The plane was forced to reverse course mid-flight on Thursday due to a positive COVID-19 case on board the aircraft that was headed for the Pacific nation in the aftermath of Saturday's volcanic eruption and tsunami which devastated the country.
Since Tonga is COVID-19 free, it has required delivery of aid to the island nation of about 105,000 to be contactless in order to keep the coronavirus out.

The Tongan government very early on quarantined their islands off from the rest of the world. Tonga is said to have had a total of one case of COVID-19 since the DemPanic started.
Omicron is going to go through Tonga like a hot knife through butter. That is, if Alpha or Delta don’t get there first.

They couldn’t keep it out of a small group in Antarctica even though everyone sent there was fully vaxxed and tested multiple times while en route and all tests were negative.

Actually, I can understand the fear they have on Tonga, given it is an island nation. Still stupid given they are probably suffering greatly from the eruption and/or tsunami.

What are you talking about? My point was almost entirely rested on the principle of isolation not vaccination. My only point about it was that, among all other factors, it didn’t prevent the spread to Antarctica either.
You should feel kind of stupid attacking an idea that was not presented in my post.

As one with career in engineering designing and manufacturing machines which are subject to bigger shock loads than any other machine in the world, the one thing I learned quickly is rely on actual results, and ignore all opinions and theoretical prognostications. The actual results at age almost 82 show that I am still healthy as a race horse, have boundless energy and in no danger of running out of money if I am lucky to live to age 100. Quick learning and good commonsense beats everything else. And I think those attributes come from using the wonderful brain God gave us. Just have to use it, and not ask God for help every time one gets in a trouble.
