Strip her US citizenship. Cancel her. She’s the CCP’s gain. Emperor Xi will check her out ... closely.
Did she defect, or did she just come in from the cold?
There is no evidence she gave up the golden passport, aka USA.
She’s gorgeous, the top of a very unique and difficult sport, and does actually speak the language (Mandarin.) Yeah it makes me somewhat bitter that she’s not representing USA - but I won’t sell her short. She’s so young, in the future she might enter Chinese politics and change things who knows?
Well I read from the FR experts that Gu wasn’t good enough to make the US team....the first US finisher was in #11. Did the US girl have bad luck?

A judged competition. I’ve never cared about them. No surprise that the China rep won in a judged event in China.
I will watch women’s figure skating but not because I care about the “score”.
No doubt that it’s all about Chinese $$$$$$.
Anyone who forsakes the USA to ski for the CHICOMS is a traitor.

FR experts may have confused Gu with another American/Chinese ice skater who was not good enough for the US team. She fell twice in competition....don’t recall the name.
Gu was likely paid to compete for China, who do not allow dual citizenship, so Gu is theoretically no longer a US citizen.
She will be lauded as TV does nothing but attempt to create stars. Gu played it all too cute for my taste during her finals runs.
I hope she is shunned just as viewers are shunning the Beiing games.
Were the French and Swiss competitors in 2nd and 3rd complaining the judging? I didn’t watch it.
Olympic Gold is the least of her considerations. Her mother is Stanford Grad (from China) has worked on Wall Street, Hedge Funds, apparantly now involved with "private equity."
Her Father is unknown, but rumors are its a Harvard/Silicon Valley venture capital guy named Ray Sydney. Its not confirmed, but Its weird how he has stayed hidden during this.
Most importantly though - its reported she has earned at least $20 million through endorsements in China. Some Western firms like Estee Lauder and Visa, but also many, many Chinese firms. Its where the money was - so she (or her mother) took it.
But what average people in both America (and especially China) are noticing and reacting to - its the quintessential global-elitist story. Raised in woke, leftist place. Elite parents in finance, NO loyalty to country, will go wherever the money is. And they'll paint it with BS woke/fake PR drivel about "breaking boundaries for women," "being proud of my culture," etc....
