The Courts are garbage. They are ran by incompetents and liars. I have rarely seen an accurate court verdict. They almost always get the verdict wrong, and it doesn't really matter what the case is about.
If there is a worst way to do it, *THAT* is usually the result the courts pick.
I don’t think you should make conclusions about the court case against the parents unless you’ve read the actual court case. Freepers agonize when tragic stories happen to little kids in the custody of their parents, then turn around and make blanket judgements about custodians in this case. I would say that those stairs don’t look like a great place for a little girl.
