I hate to just go on and on about a topic, but: Thank the catholic church for lobbying, over generations of time, to allow rapists and murderers to live on and even get the chance to rape and murder again. Because they said they were sorry.
Yes, the death penalty is abused - this is why we have to keep our court system in pristine working order.
But like a few other supposed religious entities, the catholics extend their charitable efforts toward getting soulless killers’ sentences reduced from execution to a long life with semi-celebrity status, shelter, a job, and free food in the prison system.
