The Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) in California has released shocking body-camera footage of a deputy shooting a man in the head at a Walmart in January after the man allegedly reached for a firearm while being detained.
The wounded, Ernest Paul Aguilar, 30, is recovering in jail and is charged with multiple felonies, “including assault on a peace officer and possession of a gun missing a serial number,” the Los Angeles Times reported. His bail has been set at $2.3 million.
Warning: The video below contains disturbing footage. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.
The incident occurred the night of January 19 at a Walmart in Foothill Ranch in Lake Forest, California, after officers were called to the scene at 9:40 p.m., said Ryan Anderson, sergeant of public affairs and community engagement for the OCSD, in the recently released “Critical Incident Video.”
The 911 caller, a loss prevention employee at the store who has not been identified, reported that two men with a “fake receipt” were “shopping around the store,” a 911 call released by the OCSD reveals. The caller noted that they were “grabbing high-ticket merchandise.”
Once at the store, deputies located the loss prevention employee, who pointed out a woman and man as the suspects, and told officers she would like to refuse service to the pair.
When the deputies approached the suspects and told them the loss prevention employee wanted them out of the store, the male subject told them they were “buying” as he held a handful of what appeared to be cash.
The woman who was with Aguilar told KNBC that he had $1,000 on him and intended to pay for the items. The outlet did not identify her by name.

I wonder what would truly be shocking these days...
Bruce Jenner admits to being disgusted trying to be a woman?
Putin suddenly pulls out of Ukraine?
Tranny swimmers on the womens’ teams admit it is unfair and give up pretending to be women?
Apparently that was the extra guy (non-deputy) who rushed in to help. No indication who he was.
These pussies should talk to Ukrainians if they think stuff like this is “shocking”.
One of the deputies told the guy and the gal that they would be going to his car where he would take "their information".
If the guy had warrants out for his arrest, then he knew he was going to end up being handcuffed, which would require him to be searched; the gun was going to be discovered.
He was basically fighting against time (the time it would take for more LE to arrive); the clock ran out on him, but not by much. (He had his gun out. This could have been a tragedy for any or all of those deputies.)
Don’t start nothin’, won’t be nothin’.
According to journalistic style guides, the word “allegedly” must be used in all criminal cases prior to conviction, except when discussing Kyle Rittenhouse’s actions in Kenosha.
Understand. The guy is not too bright. There was no way he was going to fight his way out of it. Now he is in worse shape.
I doubt the assessment that Russia will attempt to take Odessa anytime soon.
They have troops around Mykolaiv already. Mykolaiv is half the population of Odessa, but it is a much more important port on the Black Sea, the center of shipbuilding and Navy headquarters.
According to their map, Russian forces have it surrounded already and have pushed north on the east side of the Bug. The Russian naval troops may land on the west side of the Bug to seize the western approach to the highway bridge over the Bug and cut off supplies to Mykolaiv, although air power should pretty much isolate it already. The next upriver crossing is a rail bridge at Pisky, and then there are no bridges until Voznesens’k about 40 miles further upriver.
Traversing the coast from Kherson to Odessa appears almost impossible due to north south rivers and estuaries and reservoirs.
Glad there was a disclaimer. So so shocking! Now I can watch John Wick in peace!
He has been booked into the Orange County Jail on outstanding warrants
I dunno. I kinda got the impression that they shot him for having a gun. Did he go for it?
Had it in his hand.
Hard to tell cause he was being physically manipulated, but post shot he was either in decerebrate position or posture. Could have been on drugs, or deaf, or extremely mentally troubled. Guy like that doesn’t need to resist cops while in possession of a knife and gun. He most likely has very severe brain damage.
Dumbass. Who was the idiot yelling “Shoot him!”?
He took it out?
:)
Read that headline, and my first thought was: "Hope it wasn't the clerk in the sporting goods section!" It's tough enough to find them now, when you need them, without anybody shooting at 'em...
At the end of the video, there are still shots; you can see for yourself.
A cop.
Sorry, I was making a joke. That was a Seinfeld reference:
