"After more than six months of study and deliberation, the Pulitzer Prize Board has decided it will not revoke the foreign reporting prize awarded in 1932 to Walter Duranty of The New York Times."

No harm in following the narrative.
How many Americans know? I’ll bet the Ukrainians do.
“Why should we revoke a reporter’s award for a story full of lies, when, in fact, we want the reporters to spread these lies, and we want the lies to be believed?”
I learned about it in high school. My Russian teacher told us
This will be the same excuse they use when they review the "Russian Collusion" pulitzers in 90 years or so.
Truthful objective reporting is anathema to the pulitzer crowd. Left wing virtue signaling is what matters.
Many Americans don’t know that Upton Sinclair knew from the defense lawyer that Sacco and Vanzetti were guilty but he chose to write an exoneration of them because it would sell well with his socialistic European readers.
There were riots over them being executed … riots Sinclair helped make happen.
Useful idiots or collaborator … still a scumbag progressive.
I would argue that the NYT is even more dishonest today. We all saw 2020 election stories, covid news, China news, etc and then I would suggest we remember that when we look at their headlines and stories about Ukraine today. It might be instructive.
Sacco and Vanzetti were 100% guilty. Reading into that case is amazing. It’s not even close to not guilty.
The Left’s attitude towards those two can be lined up well with this recent story: https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4045212/posts
When it’s them killing and rioting they are supposed to get a pass, just ask them.
I’m posting this, because they are so pro-Ukraine and anti-Russia
Walter Duranty was also a disciple of Aleister Crowley, smoking opium and participating in “Magick” sex orgies with Mr. Crowley in Paris. No wonder the Left loves him.
Until Pulitzer and his ilk stirred up the masses, people were content to accept the explosion of the USS Maine off the cost of Cuba (then owned by Spain) as yet another steamboat explosion. We'll never know for sure why it exploded. But Pulitzer kept the masses stirred up with his frequent "breaking news" of "new developments" that were a bunch of nothings, but enough to get the public desire war more than Bill ever desired Monica.
To this day the Pulitzer Prize is not awarded to the journalist who brought forward the largest amount of unknown truth. It's to the one who's best at making a mountain from a molehill.
Duranty admitted that his reporting reflected the Soviet viewpoint. In the Kliefoth memo Duranty states that “in agreement with the New York Times and the Soviet authorities,’ his official dispatches always reflected the official opinion of the Soviet regime and not his own.” The memo does not make it clear when this agreement was reached. It probably covered his 1931 articles a\s well.
