In a tearful Hall of Fame induction speech following his daughter’s touching introduction, Tiger Woods pulled back the curtain a bit on his carefully tended image, speaking of the trials that led to the moment, incidences of racism and financial hardship that were a contrast to how preordained he always made his success look.

The big news? It appears Tiger has seen a remarkable regrowth of the hair on the top of his head, or he's bought a new rug for his induction into the HOF.
Bah, I wanted to here more stripper and “pron” star stories.
I read he had turned his life around through God. But maybe not. Wish him well.
He’s one of the greatest golfers ever.
This is the first I’ve heard of him having problems because he’s black, but I’ve seen nothing but admiration since he’s played on the PGA Tour.
The time away from the spotlight I hope did him some good.
I like Tiger, he took some heat for playing golf with Trump.
“I read he had turned his life around through God.”
I don’t think he claimed that.

Very good point. Always used to be must watch television and provided some of the best sports entertainment in history. Especially for an individual.
Oh no. I heard a golf pro refer to him as a high y-—— back in the late 1980s. There was racism all right.
His speech came across as transparent and humble. If he hasn’t already, I pray he receives the grace and peace that’s found in Christ.
“There was racism all right.”
And he perpetuated it, also. I can remember when he pulled the race card on Fuzzy Zoeller for a locker room joke, accepted his apology that day as jokes of this kind go around locker rooms all the time, telling Zoeller he’s cool, and then cost Zoeller millions while trying to ruin his career after Woods got a call from Jesse Jackson.
And I thought Woods was proud of his father as a senior NCO in the military that makes plenty of money.
I somehow don’t seem to believe he has found anything close to God as Buddhists do not believe in any kind of deity or God, although there are supernatural figures who can help or hinder people on the path towards enlightenment. Yeah, right.

Tiger would have only been ~ 10-13 years old in the late ‘80s. Doubtful that golf pros were saying crap like that about him then.
Tiger’s father was a veteran and they used military golf courses to train and play because the private clubs didn’t want them there.
It as probably in the early to mid 90’s when I lived in Charlotte. It has been a while but he was new and upcoming. Respected but the guy I heard say it was a lot older.
And yes, I heard it with my own ears. First time I had ever head that phrase so it stood out.
