Pistol found strapped to suspect’s back during booking at Davidson County Sheriff’s Office

Forkum had a Ruger LCP .380 handgun strapped to the middle of her back that Officer Minsing did not notice while placing her under arrest. He cuffed her hands directly below the gun and placed her in the patrol car.

When Forkum was processed for booking at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, staff members found the gun strapped to her back.

She is now facing a felony charge of introducing a firearm into a penal institution.

This happens when every officer assumes the previous officer did a thorough search before hand. There was a case where a Colombian gang member killed himself in a interrogation room with a gun he had on him. In the video you can tell the officers were both upset by the fact he got a gun through security and the fact they knew they will all be fired.

I Googled 20 year old Hannah Forkum's name in order to find a mugshot of her, and found a story about 19 year old Hannah Forkum being arrested for drug possession.

I’d defend her on the charge of bringing the gun into the jail. She was obviously under official duress when it happened. Being handcuffed and dragged in against her will? I’d take that to a jury if the proscutor didn’t eat that charge.
