Fifty years after Watergate, a new limited series is revisiting the scandal that birthed “a lot of this widespread conspiracy theorist sentiment in the country,” its showrunner said in a panel discussion Tuesday.
Based on the first season of Slate’s “Slow Burn” podcast, “Gaslit” centers the perspective of Martha Mitchell (Julia Roberts), the wife of former U.S. Attorney General John Mitchell (Sean Penn) who leaked the details of her husband’s dealings with former President Nixon.

Poor Martha was an alcoholic and a pill popper, with some serious mental issues, those will not be covered in movie will be my guess. She was from my home town and i was at her funeral.

Water gate was the birth of the modern day media....the rosetta stone...it showed what kind of power they have, they actually took out a popular, sitting President. The whole story was insider washington garbage that didn’t effect a single Americans life...yet it showed what they could do. Ever since, its their dream to pick and choose who they go after. They went full bore after Trump and he beat em back and still won. They still cant get over that he beat Clinton...
