Former President Donald Trump's media company has begun hiring staff for its video streaming platform as it seeks to build a MAGA challenger to mainstream providers such as Netflix, Hulu and Disney+.
In recruitment adverts posted on Wednesday, the Trump Media and Technology Group announced it was seeking a content buyer and a development manager to create programming for its TMTG+ service.
The service is part of Trump's attempt to build an alternative media ecosystem after being kicked off Facebook and YouTube in the wake of the January 6 violence last year.
But his Truth Social challenger to Twitter has struggled to gain purchase since being launched, and has seen downloads plummet.
It is still not available on phones running Android software.
The advert suggests TMTG+ will offer a wide range of programs - some original and some bought in - much like other existing platforms.
'Trump Media & Technology Group's streaming video on demand service will be a “Big Tent” platform offering broad-based entertainment rooted in free speech,' it says.
'In addition to the social media platform Truth Social, our SVOD platform TMTG+ will be the home for a wide variety of non-scripted, scripted, and original content.'
The content development manager will work on development, casting and pilots.

Yeah, I couldn’t wait for Truth Social and once I discovered no Android access, I lost all interest with a bit of irritation. Bad move on their part, but what do I know? I’m just a voter.

I signed up to be a beta tester for the Web version of Truth Social a few days ago. Just this morning, I got an invite and can now use my account on any web browser and on any mobile device (using a web browser).
I'm happy to say it's ready for Prime Time. I would expect the web version to be released to the masses within the next couple of weeks.

TS for Android would be nice. There must be a reason why it’s not yet launched.
I read months ago that TS was being slowly rolled out to upend an onslaught of fake accounts and bot disruptions.
Trump’s people are not stupid. But most are left if the dark which indicates they are on top of security.
I love Truth Social but I have a hard time viewing it, I can’t wait until it’s available on iPad.
Truth Social is doing an end around by beta testing a web browser version that works on all platforms. I am an active member of the beta testing team (as mentioned earlier up thread) and it works great.
I actually prefer the browser interface to the Apple app. can now bring my full size keyboard into play.

Of course it did. It would go down after the initial surge. I think Elon saying Trump coming back to Twitter affected it too. There is no excuse for not having Android/Windows/MacOS/Linux versions ready to go. Same with the streaming service they could be running 2000 Mules right now.

I cancelled my cable years ago.
I will sign up and pay for for any Truth Social (TMTG) streaming service (powered by Rumble) in a heartbeat.
Already I go to Rumble as a first resort for my streaming needs. I still use YouTube a lot but will check Rumble first.

Nearly three million users is not too shabby after barely three months of existence. It took Twitter years to scale to that number.
The Apple Store only option (with no Web browser option) has definitely limited the initial growth of Truth Social up to now but as I mentioned further upthread, that is about to change very shortly.
