Vladimir Putin's top security officials understand that the war in Ukraine is 'lost' and a coup is now a realistic possibility, a Russian analyst has predicted.
Christo Grozev, a Russia expert, believes GRU and FSB elites are the most likely to try and topple Putin, because they know the truth of what is happening on the ground.
And those elites are already looking for ways to move their money and families out of the country in anticipation of Putin falling, Grozev claims.
-snip-
Grozev also said that defence ministry flights to a supposed command and control bunker near Ufa - 725 miles east of Moscow - have reduced since earlier in the war.
'Those flights for the elite, which we recorded a month ago, are now not so intense,' he said.
Grozev said that senior figures in the FSB - Russia's main internal security agency - and in the GRU military intelligence directorate - are preparing for life after Putin.
The 'intellectual part of the GRU', those with 'complete information' understand the mire Putin is in, he said.
'And also the FSB elite, which knows the specific number of victims among the Russian troops, and understands that the mothers, wives, sisters of the dead or missing Russian soldiers do not stop asking questions.
'They know that this situation will eventually get out of hand.
'These are those parts of the security forces who know the dangers for the regime, and they themselves are now preparing their future.
'Some of them are looking for an opportunity to take their families out of Russia, all are looking for ways to transfer the accumulated money (corruption money in many cases) into dollars and euros.

Shouldn’t be too difficult to slip some naughty chems into Vlad’s IV fluids.
Daily mail is like Gateway.
It will happen in October and the immediate aftermath narrative will be interpreted as a Biden accomplishment.
With all reports, I encourage everyone to look up the author, who he works for, its history, etc...
We live in a world of manipulated news, coming from all sides.
This “Russia Analyst” is basically a blogger who works for an EU equivalent of DailyKos or Drudge Report. Not discounting that such sources can offer truth, but if you thought he had ANY connection to Russian intelligence, you would be wrong.
Explain how he can, in his predictions, know that top Putin officials understand that Putin needs to be deposed?
🤣🤣🤣
And how can this analyst know what these unnamed officials believe, or that they believe the war is lost?
🤣
Why do you believe the mainstream media?
The fact is, the Ukrainian army that existed before February 24th, 2022, no longer exists.
Outside of those reduced units still pinned down in the Donbass, it’s mostly barely-trained militia, untrained draftees, and members of the (formerly) inactive reserve, with a thin superstructure of cadre.
Yes, some of them really want to fight, and will. (Some don’t, and won’t.)
But the professional army outside of the Donbass, no longer exists, as such.
He’s so done.
Poor Putin.
It is beginning to look like he will die in his sleep - probably with a pillow over his face. If he’s really sick, that will likely be the official cause of death.
In any case, he better sleep with his doors locked and blocked lest regime change find its way in.
The Ukraine apologists here are not going to like that.
Chuckle.
Er, yes. Russian officials are discussing a coup against Putin in such a way that the Daily Mail is going to find out about it. Sure.
Just like Normandy! Well Done Vlad-o!
No... This sight is like the WP when it comes to Ukraine and Russia. GP at least gets some things right even if they do sensationalize way too much.
Even though this is just one analyst’s speculation, I don’t think it’s too far-fetched. Russian tyrants can get away with an awful lot, but they cannot usually get away with failure and embarassing the whole nation. Russia has a tendency to “deal with” those kinds of tyrants quickly and quietly.
The Putinista contingent on FR will be disappointed if something happens to their hero.
