According to emergency calls and surveillance footage, Ramos crashed the vehicle he was driving in a ditch at 11:30 a.m. Immediately after, the teacher who propped the door open ran back inside to retrieve a phone. Then the teacher returned to the propped door, calling 9-1-1, noticed the shooter nearing the school, panicking and ran inside, leaving the door open.
Then, at 11:33 a.m, Ramos entered the building and began shooting into the classrooms

I STILL can’t get over the idiot teacher who propped open a secure door and then ran into the school without closing it behind him/her and also the armed “School Resource Officer” that didn’t feel the need to be AT the school he was supposed to be guarding.

The teacher should be charged as an “accessory after the fact” or something.

My understanding was that they were retrieving their phone (from their car?). Fatal decision.

Panic is a killer. Panic comes from being unprepared, unaware, and lackadaisical. Those who are in a position where they may need to take action in a dangerous and quickly moving situation need to keep it forward in their minds all the time. Today’s schoolteachers are in such a position.
That’s the way I understood it also.
Too bad she wasn’t retrieving a personal weapon from her car. Although that would’ve been illegal and against the law.
Pure speculation on my part, but I’m guessing the shooter saw her at her car, saw her enter the building without closing the door, and followed her in.
