A cannabis curry—use some low thc weed and high powered chilies and I might give it a try. The issue with weed is that it is too powerful. I remember the dime lid back in the day and it did the trick....sorta like a six pack of beer. Who needs to be couch-locked after eating curry?

If the new laws work of Thailand, then more ;power to them. I would hope that the new laws have a sunset provision so as to revist the experiment and decide if it worked or not.

They also allow same sex marriage now - they’re following the twisted path of our left.

“Gah, Thai Stick”

When I was in Soi Potpoi (Bangkok) Christmas 1981.

It was called “Buddah Stick”...they were big sticks.

And true lightning.

“use some low thc weed and high powered chilies and I might give it a try”

This is probably more what you are looking for:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhang

It’s made from only the cannabis leaves or seeds, not the flowers or resin, so it’s low potency and technically legal in a lot of places where marijuana is not.

Cannabis was never illegal anywhere until the Progressive Era. I’d characterize prohibition as the experiment.

A former employee at our company went there with his wife on vacation. Somehow they wound up in the tranny section of Bangkok. That was back in the 2000’s.

Psychoactive substances should be regulated like alcohol.

Marijuana, peyote, mushrooms, and similar things do less harm than the criminal enterprises that sell them or the corrupt government that perpetuates the problem with addiction and drug-related crimes.

Thailand is near my top as a possible retirement country, and this change in the law makes it even better. Just waiting to see what they do with covid mandates/restrictions in the future before I consider venturing over there.

For years, small bags of chopped ganja have been suspended from the edges of big witayu/ noodle vats. I used to enjoy one such duck noodle soup stand, where the broth was made with ‘the punch’, nearby my apartment off Sukhumvit. Delicious! Have one bowl, have another. Nap time

Back in my navy days, I had a shipmate that packed an opiated
Thai stick in his wallet, hitting it once or twice a day.

If I settle on Taiwan I will definitely make the effort to try and learn at least some. I was considering the Philippines primary because they speak English, but the infrastructure, food, ect is better in Thailand for a similar cost of living. Now that Thailand has legal weed, that tips the scale quite a bit in Thailand’s favor.
