'Nobody believes me!' Brad Pitt details his struggle with rare 'face blindness' condition prosopagnosia which makes it difficult to recognize people (even his own family!)

Brad Pitt has detailed his struggle with a rare 'face blindness' condition - admitting that 'nobody believes' him when he talks about it.

The actor, 58, believes he suffers from prosopagnosia, an inability to recognize faces that usually affects the person for most or all of their life.

Many people with the condition can't even recognize family members, partners or friends and cope by using alternative ways to recognize people, such as remembering the way they walk, or their hairstyle, voice or clothing.

While Brad has not been formally diagnosed with the condition he has long believed himself to be a sufferer and admitted he worries that it's led to people thinking he's remote or aloof around people.

He told GQ magazine: 'Nobody believes me! I wanna meet another [person with the prosopagnosia].'

“While Brad has not been formally diagnosed with the condition...”

Funny that you want people to take your condition seriously but you don’t take it seriously enough yourself to go see a doctor.

How can you have a career as an actor with a disorder like that?? Seems like it would be almost impossible.

If you ask me ( and nobody did) Jennifer is the problematic one…..and Angelina is not a Viper Nutjob!
Angelina’s kids seem well behaved and dress appropriately.
And her dad is Jon Voight, a really good guy!

Jennifer, otoh, is all about me me me!

I think it’s an old age side effect. Maybe caused by too much make up!

I’ve come to like Brad Pitt. I pray for him and Tom Cruise and Mick Jagger. Don’t know why really, but I hope they all get saved or are saved.

So there is no need for him to date/marry beautiful women as they all look the same to him?

Nobody really understands how the brain really works. The brain is 90% phospholipids, so human thought is a function of lipid metabolism. Also really don’t know how drugs, alcohol and the infinite variety of combinations affects those fats that are churning in the brain.

Jon Voight is the biological father..and that is about it.

They have had a very rocky relationship and Jon has questioned her mental stability.

Funny that you want people to take your condition seriously but you don’t take it seriously enough yourself to go see a doctor.

I've come to the conclusion that doctors are good for many things but diagnosing a mysterious condition ... well, not so much.

My wife started having severely cold hands and feet. Icy. She went to the internet and would diagnose herself with various diseases and autoimmune conditions and go to world class doctors at places like Johns Hopkins to see if it was right. Every single time they would says "well, yes, it sounds like it is". Eventually she would decide it wasn't quite right and so she'd do more research, pick another disease and the cycle would go around again. She was thus "confirmed" by expert doctors to have several different diseases that she did not have. Eventually after years of this one of them actually figured out she had a serious vitamin B deficiency. Some supplements, problem solved. She also did have an autoimmune condition but for once it was one she didn't know about and finally, after years and multiple experts, a doctor took the effort to try to figure it out and got it right.

But my respect for doctors dropped a lot. I never tell a doctor what I think I might have, I've learned they will just say "if you say so then yes, that's what you have". I want them to do the work.

To be fair, that malady afflicts many in Hollywood.

If you have Amazon they are doing a special on Paramount channel that has Lost City. I enjoyed his role in it.

Funny you say that...Lost City ending credits talk about 10% of the brain. I won’t spoil how it came up

I have been through this exact thing. I suggest for anyone going through this to get your DNA tested and start the search. Mine led me to figure out two autoimmune disorders and I am going to go get a test for a third.

Btw, the typical test they do for Celiac disease TTG IGA can miss the issue.

I know someone who knew both of them, quite well.

Jennifer was the nut job, which I wouldn’t have initially believed.
