RIP. Also liked the themes to You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (instrumental), The Spy Who Loved Me (Nobody Does it Better), For Your Eyes Only, and Octopussy (All Time High).

Tom Jones literally passed out when singing the last high note in Thunderball.

The grim reaper sure has been busy this week.
RIP
Producers hired composer John Barry to rearrange the theme, and Barry was widely assumed to have written it — to Norman's chagrin.

Responsible journalism would include a sound clip of the theme.

At least he won’t be able to see what the next James Bond will be.

I thought John Barry wrote most of the Bond music.
To: Steve_Seattle
He arranged the theme but the actual music was composed by Monty Norman.

Maybe that one theme song, but according to Wikipedia, Barry wrote the scores for 11 Bond movies. By the way, about 20 years ago Barry did an album called "The Beyondness of Things," which was not related to any movie. It's a fabulous album, very pretty. Only one song has a "Bond" feel to it. He passed away in 2011.
