Kanji Ishiwara was the primary mover of the Japanese conquest of Manchuria (born out of a false flag op), but later turned against Tojo over the next false flag operation that started the long war of attrition with China, which Ishiwara was sure could not be won. He was forced into retirement (a threat of assassination will do that to a guy) to a country estate and died before 1950. Tojo and his fellow gangsters were tried, found guilty, executed, cremated, and the ashes dumped into the Pacific to prevent a shrine at their graves. There is, or was, a very good documentary on YT, I just can't find it.
