You take them because you aren’t getting enough nutrients from other sources like food and sunlight. Most people don’t eat well and even if you try certain foods grown in different soils around the country are deficient in various minerals. If all your food is processed and fast you are getting much less good building blocks and you will need supplementation.
Vegetables are the cheapest food in grocery store.
I buy lots of celery, tomatoes, onions, garlic, green peppers, and frozen veggies. Vitamins from veggies are absorbed better than from pills.
But my main point was, exercise is like 10 times more beneficial than any pills & supplements. I take no pills or supplements, and am athletic enough at age 82 to join ballet class. I am totally shocked. I never believed in my 50’s that body can be so strong in 80’s. I rarely see people over age 70 in the gym. And those few old people who show up are doing weights and nothing aerobic. Treadmill is your friend.
