Have no idea if this is a hoax, but the body looks real, and it was reported by the Daily Mail and Mirror in the UK.
I saw this story on DM but didn’t post it. Just looked too gory. Yea he’s a darwin award winner.
There are signs saying to not go swimming, so there is probably alcohol involved.
The one thing I noticed was the lack of blood in the water, but I remember stories as a kid, that alligators and crocodiles don’t kill with their teeth attacking, they kill their victim by drowning them and then eat them.

Yes, croc will drown you and will wait until the flesh begins to decompose and then it becomes easy to rip chunks of flesh out and eat those.
Learned to waterski on a lake that had alligators sunning themselves on the shore - certain places on that lake you did not want to wipe out.
Certain places? Sounds like the entire lake.

I not only swam in alligator lakes when I lived in Colombia, we were out one night shining them (light in their eyes are orange, like Christmas tree lights... and sort of immobilizes them. We would paddle up and whack them in the head with a hammer, haul them to shore, and cut the tails off and eat them), and the guy paddling thought it would be funny and impress his girlfriend to turn over the canoe. I literally landed on top of the gator. Lost a nice flashlight and a hammer, too.
Crazy stuff you do as a kid.
I led a sheltered life. I only did a few crazy things, but messing with gators, was not one of them. 🤗 I am glad you survived your youth.

That’s another thing I didn’t do. I tried to get my son an appointment to the Air Force Academy, but he didn’t want to go there. He ended up becoming an Air Force officer anyway, but I think USAF Academy troops go to Ft Benning too. I spent 9 years at a USAF pilot training base in Del Rio, the same place where all the illegal immigrants were coming across. I used to see the student pilots parasailing, but they weren’t doing it for fun. They did it, in case they had to punch out, to practice.
