The British banned slavery decades before America did.

In the grand sweep of history, that was a blink of an eye.

And it is arguable that the British held the Indians in de facto slavery for another century plus after they “ended” slavery.

True, but decades after we were free, yetEngland continued to allow their merchant ships to sell slaves to America, until Wilberforce was able to change it.

Had England not continued there slave trading on the high seas, slavery would have died out in America for lack of new slaves.
