Ukraine (vanity)

This is my vanity update on the Ukraine-Russian war. My information is primarily sourced from the many Russian accounts I follow on telegram and Scott Ritter.

The Ukraine made a successful counter attack on Russia and reclaimed vast tracts of land. This attack was organized by NATO and it had Ukrainian troops who were NATO trained and equipped. In particular, the HIMARS systems provided by the Americans have been critical to helping Ukraine. My rough understanding is that these allow for longer range attacks on Russian positions.

The good news for Russia is that they lost very few troops…the bad news is that they did not have enough troops to defend this land. The Ukraine has had massive losses of troops.

Russia has changed the rules of engagement following this counterattack and they are now attacking Ukrainian infrastructure. An additional change in these rules of engagement is coming - Russia is preparing to declare the Ukraine a terrorist state and they will use the harsh treatment of Russian collaborators to justify this.

The main advantage Russia gets from this is that the rules of engagement change when they are fighting a terrorist state. I don’t have a full grasp of all of the changes this will permit, but the key one is that they can target the enemy leadership so that more Kiev attacks can take place.

Russia doesn’t have enough troops to take Ukraine but they will win this war. Putin will do everything short of conscription to facilitate their ultimate victory.

If you see part of the Kerch Strait Bridge destroyed that will tell how things will end.

After that, Russia may lose the Crimea and the port.

I disagree with you. Telegram has lots of pro-Russia propaganda accounts saying whatever Moscow wants like Twitter has bots. Scott Ritter has a 25 year history of questionable and at times criminal words and actions.

Joe Biden needs to visit Kiev, since this is his, the Democrats’ and the corrupt warmonger RINOs’ war.

Maybe they can form a WWIII war commission and all go together to eat the fruits of their labor and reap what they sow.

Scott Ritter = a pedo who supports a thug invading a sovereign nation.

Both NATO and Russia may claim victory in the end.
Russia goals are to destroy the Uke armed forces and de-nazify Ukraine. Russia is well down a path to achieve those ends

NATO wants to keep Ukraine intact. Ukraine lost Crimea and the two breakaway States years ago. NATO might be able to hang on to present day Ukraine. Present day Ukraine is very unstable mainly due to the remaining NAZI’s within its borders

And is there anything incorrect or that you want to debate…or does the debate end once Scott Ritter’s name is mentioned.

I thought that was a pretty good vanity, keep them speculative and informative on what you believe you are hearing, and they can be useful.

I’m more interested in what you get from the Russian online chatter (is that Telegram?) than from Scott Ritter, Ritter is always going to promote propaganda, period, like reading a democrat politician’s press releases, it will always be the same ‘spin’ with no insights, and won’t be useful.

The HIMARS stuff and the rules of engagement changes are part of the Russian online chatter on Telegram…everything else is either Ritter or both Ritter and online chatter. Both online chatter and Ritter say Russia lost very few troops in the counter attack.

There are an increasing number of graphic images on Telegram that I am viewing of Russian-speaking Ukrainian civilian collaborators being shot in the head…this will be the basis for the change in the rules of engagement. I believe that Putin is very much doing a political dance to affect this change. This dance in some ways reminds me of Bush pre-Iraq war.

Yeah, you know how Western leaders and politics are, and I’m sure the Ukrainians know as well, proof of Ukrainians being bloodthirsty terrorists would lose them the great goodwill they have won with Western voters.

The Ukraine soldiers know the West is their lifeblood both during and after the war and they know their long-term survival depends on NATO membership, summary executions are not likely, but the Russians are famous for it and would casually and eagerly supply the bodies for an FSB propaganda campaign to change the war cause.

I get the impression that painting Ukraine as terrorists is important inside of Russia…Although you make good points, the external propaganda does not seem to be as important to Russia as you might think.

Just to be clear, I am mostly neutral but definitely lean toward supporting Putin and Russia. I strongly believe trade relations with Russia should be normalized and that Ukraine should receive no American subsidies. I don’t mind selling arms to Ukraine as long as they either pay cash or the credit risk is minimized.

I have no plans to reject Ritter in spite of his past criminal convictions and his biases. I fear that if we completely reject Ritter then the deep state will be emboldened to engage in even more political entrapments. He may or may not be guilty but I definitely don’t want to see an increase in political entrapments.

I sometimes forget that much of what Russia does is for local consumption because of the bubble they keep their people in.

“””Just to be clear, I am mostly neutral but definitely lean toward supporting Putin and Russia”””

That is why your threads could be useful if you scan the pro-Russia threads online that you enjoy doing and try to pick up a good feel for what their side is really thinking at the grassroots level, a sort of ‘wisdom of the crowd’ thing.

Latest update from Pro-Russian Telegram (this is one of many similar posts):

🇷🇺🇺🇦⚡Kiev, having staged a terrorist attack in the building of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the LPR, went beyond what is permitted, this proves that Ukraine is a terrorist state - the head of the LPR”

Russia looking to modify their rules of engagement. They have already started a few weeks ago attacking dams and power plants and other civilian infrastructure. The labelling of Ukraine as a terrorist state may lead to increased number of attacks on the head of the snake (Zelensky in Kiev).

Ukraine update:

Russia is having success with Iranian kamikaze drones. These drones are doing a great deal of damage to Ukrainian equipment.

FAB-500 bombs have been mobilized by Russia. The 500 comes from 500kg, I believe. These are also unguided, which is important. Rules of engagement are changing.
