Marjorie Taylor Greene's husband is filing for divorce from the controversial 48-year-old Georgia Republican congresswoman.
Her husband, Perry Greene, filed for a formal split on Tuesday after nearly three decades of marriage - and just weeks before November's midterm elections.
The pair were married in August 1995, whilst Greene was still a student at the University of Georgia.
The couple had three children together, all of who are now adults.
Although the divorce documents do not reveal explicitly what led to the couple's split, Perry Greene states that the pair had separated in the past.
He also asks for the court to split their assets and debts equally.
'Marriage is a wonderful thing and I'm a firm believer in it. Our society is formed by a husband and wife creating a family to nurture and protect.
'Together, Perry and I formed our family and raised three great kids. He gave me the best job title you can ever earn: Mom/ I'll always be grateful for how great of a dad he is to our children,' Greene said in a statement to TMZ.
The petition to file for divorce comes months before the Midterm elections in which Greene is standing for reelection.
Earlier this year there were questions on her eligibility to run after voters in the Georgia congresswoman's district said Greene helped facilitate the January 6, 2021, insurrection that disrupted certification of President Joe Biden's victory.
They claimed it made her ineligible for reelection under a rarely cited section of the 14th Amendment dealing with 'insurrection or rebellion.'

His name is part of her brand. Otherwise she’s just Marjorie Taylor.
As I noted.
I've never understood how this site claims to be Christian when it is filled with so many judgmental hypocrites........
DJT was a Democrat until he married Melania. I know the two facts are unrelated but people forget he was a registered dem while he was a real estate developer in New York City.
He filed for DIVORCE, not simply divorce? How important!
Love the sinner, hate the sin.
Confess your sins. No one is perfect.
Accept Jesus nd be saved!
Republicans with skeletons in their closet just shouldn’t run. They will be found out. Especially those claiming to be family centered, marriage centered Christian Republicans.
Except it doesn’t matter if it’s a Democrat.
I agree with you. It’s disgusting.
The left, along with their media cohorts, do this every time and our side falls for it every time. 🙄
Funny how the media turned a blind eye to Bill Clinton’s sex crimes when HE was in office?
And can anyone say “ Ted Kennedy”?
More like her hubby is a Dem - she’s one of the best warriors we have and we have morons ready to pile on just before the election...
Of course it doesn’t matter if it’s a Dem. As Rush used to say, if it’s a Dem, it’s resume enhancement. One party is pro-God, one party is anti-God in their platform. IIRC, didn’t the Dems actually remove God from their platform? So, considering this, it absolutely does not matter if they’re a Dem.
I don’t agree. There’s nobody out there without some skeleton, be it small or large, and the Dems will make the most of it. My point is to be up front and make sure people know of major past mistakes, or at least let them know you’ve made them, and have made things right, been forgiven, and grown.
Trying to keep this stuff secret is useless - too many people willing to talk, and too many crooked Dems willing to seek them out and grease their palms. Be up front from the get go and it takes that power away from them, and doesn’t leave your base feeling a little disappointed, betrayed, and ridiculed by the corrupt media.
“Reminds me of what was reported about Matt Gaetz.
FR members fell for that one too.”
Two words: Roy Moore. Hook, line, and sinker, every time. The Daily Mail, for crying out loud.
“of” is a preposition and thus requires the objective “whom” instead of the subjective “who” for its complement.
Grammar is the lost art of modern journalism.
Pure damn shit!
And they will fall for this one too. It worked on Roy Moore, It almost worked on Matt.
While I’d like to see her be re-elected, I was never for a Trump/Green ticket. I agree on several issi=ue she promotes, I didn’t think she was VP material.
I’m not happy about her sexual life, but it sounds like there have been many problems over the years. Sorry for her that the husband chose to do that as an October surprise...but I hope the voters don’t vote democrat to punish her...but this is GA and they aren’t very smart around here. I hope this doesn’t drag into a daily he said/she said public fight. The dems would love that. If it happened to a den, it would be a walk in the park and they’d be saying that it’s normal...what’s the matter with everyone else? But for a republican, they must be perfect. A pure double standard.
Wish she’d had the sense to keep her personal life more in check, but is it right to let the left win on this wj=hen we don’t really know if these events happened during previous separations when it may have looked like there was no reconciliation? If they’ve separated before, there surely are other issues at hand. It’d be nice to know, but not in everyday accusations that feeds the left.
There’s a big difference between “not being perfect” and acting like a sleazy animal…
Folks who will have affairs are not loyal, can’t be counted on to do the right thing if there’s something in it for THEM - to do otherwise; they are liars;
Much different from normal marriage troubles; separation; divorce..
A person of such low character that openly sleazes around with multiple people cannot be trusted. Even if they SAY they are on your side.
Folks, we need to do better than this with our politicians. We MUST do better than this.
I care about two things. How she votes and how she trash talks the cabal to their face. Go Marjorie!
