M&M’s, a Mars, Incorporated product, published a press release announcing a rebrand centered on the brand’s commitment to inclusion and global belonging. As another brand taking steps to increase societal impact (e.g., the effort includes creation of the M&M’S FUNd to track the brand’s impact on its mission, which will offer resources, mentorship, opportunities and financial support in the arts and entertainment space to help ensure people have access to experiences where everyone feels they belong), perhaps it is time to pause and reflect on the need for brands to make such a shift and then promote it. When the Washington Post makes fun of such a move, satire pops up within hours to highlight the absurdity, and thoughtful writers pontificate on the fatuity of the action, it is time to ponder what marketers are doing, and more importantly, why and for whom.

M&M’s has added a new “spokescandy” to their cartoon character lineup, designed to “represent acceptance and inclusivity.”
The character is the first new addition to the lineup in a decade.
“Designed to represent acceptance and inclusivity, our newest member is known for her earnest self-expression,” the brand said in a statement. “Keen self-awareness, authenticity and confidence are the driving forces behind Purple’s charm and quirky nature. She joins the legendary cast of M&M’S characters, who recently were given a refresh with updated looks and more nuanced personalities back in January.”...
Rainbow flag M&Ms.
Don’t eat the purple ones: they’re trannies.
I fear people like me who are repulsed by ESG and all the other insanity going on now are a decided minority.
I can only watch it all happen, knowing that it will not end well.

haha.... seems like so many of the “school/library program trannies” are black, it might be prudent to watch out for the Blurple ones, too. :0)
Candy is not a necessity of life.
Easy solution. symbolically pound the purple ones to a pulp with a mallet and then they’re not anything.
dont eat any of them
love the peanut & almond M&Ms
not no more
If they want me to buy their candy, I don’t need their spokescandy and certainly not any kind of social messaging. Just tell me that M&Ms taste good and they melt in your mouth, not in your hand. It’s candy, and neither eating it nor not eating it is a moral virtue.
Purple was the color of royalty. Now, according to M&M Mars, it’s the color for Groomers to bait their child targets.
Okay kiddies....Forget about M & Ms
No we are not in the minority! Part of the Cloward Piven plan is to make us feel as if we are.
Look how much Trump really won by, and how much the Democrats had to cheat.
It also depends where you live. I moved to Tennessee and know I am not minority around here. The liberals have an easier time telling people in blue states that they are the only ones, but even there I wouldn’t believe it.
It would be a terrible shame if someone were to start a rumor that the purple dye causes cancer. It sure would.
It’s too bad. I used to like m&ms. I’m surprised they aren’t changing their name to S&Ms. Inclusion you know
It’s a holy mission except they only help or care about certain people and consider the others an enemy. And, you know, you don’t even have to accomplish any good, just claim to want to.This is getting bizarre.
The solution is to stop hiring college graduates.
New Coke
I had to get rid of Skittles with their gay crap. Now M and M’s. Owned by the same Company I believe. Just damn.
