A woman accused of pushing her 3-year-old nephew off Chicago's Navy Pier and watching him drown in Lake Michigan has now been charged with murder following the child's death.

Victoria Moreno, 34, was arrested last month. She was initially charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery to a child under 13, but the charge was upgraded to first-degree murder, Fox 32 Chicago reported.

Prosecutors said on the morning of Sept. 19, Moreno stole the keys to the family's truck in suburban Des Plains and took off with the boy when no one was looking. She was not allowed to drive the car because she takes medication for "mental health issues."

Don’t care that she’s mental case, she should be pushed off the Navy pier with some cement overshoes.

The judge determined Moreno is a "danger to the community" and ordered her hold without bail.

But, but... Kim Foxx told me community safety is insignificant.

Mental health issues? Ok. Strap her into an electric chair and tell her it’s a ride at Disney. She won’t know the difference.

Mental Hospitals had an essential function in society. The do-good civil rights activists, therapists, and politicians all got it wrong, and we are now paying the price with “homelessness” and clearly dangerous individuals in our midst. Insane asylums are necessary, but bringing them back would be impossible today.

This is where “abortion on demand” starts to work on people’s minds that children are disposable. We are seeing more and more of this sort of crime against kids. It is more women perpetrating them also. When a society tells people that it’s ok to kill the child growing inside you and it’s not a human being...well, it’s a slippery slope type of thing.

Out here in California Prop. 1 is on the ballot, which would enshrine abortion on demand into the state Constitution. Abortion for any reason up to the moment of birth.
The state will also bring minor girls from other states to have abortions without parental consent, all expenses paid.
I wonder when God will toss this place into the sea.

You are so right!

Add to that the fact that anyone who is an adult is next to impossible to get committed to a mental health facility; you are lucky to get a 72 hour hold. Adults are considered competent to make their own decisions, even when anyone with sense would realize they are no more competent than an 85 year old with dementia, or a young child.

Admittedly there were abuses in the past, but we swung the pendulum way too far the other way.

Somehow being homeless or living in squalor or in jail is more “dignified” than being put into a mental institution.

Has anyone asked the question as to why the news media has lately started with the " crazy psycho woman" stories?.

There has been a rash of them and I don't believe in coincidence.

I'm guessing the devil has been trying to divide us on race, illegal immigrants, gay vs straight, and has now got the media over reporting on women who are a danger to society.

don't get angry, pray. God is in charge, the Bible warns Christians that watching/ listening to, too much news is not what we should be doing with our lives .

God says that he hates “a slanderer” (Proverbs 6:19). He also says that those who gossip are like “moth-eaten clothing” (Proverbs 22:11).

so I ask, what is the hidden purpose for the news suddenly erupting with a batch of these abusive women news stories? This isn't something new. And they are very isolated cases.

Navy Pier is a super-busy place. Granted, she did this on a monday morning, but was no one there to witness — and help the boy?

I've never tried to get someone committed. But you are right. We recently had a 30 something neighbor with 2 kids take a bat and knife after her mom - whom SHE was living off of - and her teen age sons were threatened too.

She was kicked out of her girlfriends house a few days before and the drugs and stress of being kicked out of a lesbian relationship was her tripping point.

back to what happened.. she was arrested for assault and her mom went and bailed her out for ...$200.. that's it $200 ! For assault with a deadly weapon.

She needs the be in a government detox facility. She is a known drug user. And now she's turned violent.

mom is asking for another attack. If it was my adult child, they would be rotting in jail.

I have no idea. If I knew I’d be selling my wares elsewhere
rather on a chat site. But at 81 I’m still up/going about so
all isn’t that bad. Take care and have a nice day.

Insane asylums are necessary indeed the feds need to stop supporting all the illegals for life and construct more insane asylums to make the streets safer.

In the 70’s they shut many of the down and released them into the public arena it was a trade for illegal cheap labor.

At may age I'm not doing a lot of jumping. Prone to do more
sitting and laying. Do walk the dog, in the literal sense at
times. Enjoying this nice fall weather we are having. Won't
be long I'll not be wanting to get out in the winter weather.
My allergies aren't that bad.

Because there have always been abusive women who killed but it was swept under the rug. Generally with some man being blamed as having pushed her to it.

Because I have always been a sensible person I always blamed the murderer and have taken a lot of grief on FR because I do not care what sex you are or what relation you are to the child, if you hurt a child you should be punished.

This is neither slander or gossip.

It is reality.

God never told us to ignore reality.

He did have something to say about people who hurt children and millstones.

I doubt He approves of people who "pass by on the other side" either.
