Ever since the OJ trial it’s impossible to get a real judgment.
The other reason this story is a media tar-baby is that Brooks, a felon convicted several times, was let out on bail for a violent charge ONE WEEK before he murdered six people and injured dozens more. Bail reform is supported by many Democrat candidates and the last thing they want is to have recent and tragic stories shed light on the disaster that awaits for letting these violent offenders go free.
Her overarching goal was to prevent a mistrial and bring the case to a jury. She did both and she now deserves a break.
The defendant should be happy with this result. It wasn’t him that was convicted, it was Darrell Brooks.
And execute him immediately, don’t wait years.
He will be a trophy prisoner…for sure!
Well, when you try to understand the instinctively liberal perspective of folks in Wisconsin (and Minnesota), it’s hard to know where to start. I lived there (WI) for my first 38 years and was constantly amazed by it. I guess I chalk it up to the concentration of Scandinavians, and perhaps Germans.
Dunno, but I left them to stew in their own juices, and they seem to be doing that in Madison. If you look at the mugshots in the Madison papers it is evident that there is a black crime wave happening there. Not that anyone in that liberal community could be bothered to notice. In fact I expect to see protests in front of the newspaper offices insisting that mug shots be removed from news reports as racist.
I'm not sure about those maimed, but he was found guilty of killing 6 (I think, maybe more) people. Each death carries a mandatory life sentence.
There were some charges at the end having to do with injured folks, but I don't know enough to discuss these.
There are a couple reasons this story has just disappeared from the media radar

Which major media outlets haven’t reported the story? Name and shame them.
I think we do for the most part. There will always be some corruption, but I feel the judge did an outstanding job in this case. Prosecutors did a good job too, particularly Opper.
As far as elections go, I think there has been corruption in that system for years. But in most cases, eliminating the corruption would not have made a real difference. However, the corruption has increased considerably since 2016. To the point that the corruption is now having a real impact on who gets elected. The corruption must be rooted out, the perpetrators arrested, tried and jailed.
CNN skipped the trial for two weeks- had no coverage from Oct 11 until the verdict today. MSNBC, same thing. ABC, CBS, NBC. The same pattern.
Um, no. Feet first, and slow him down with a rope around his neck.
Hallelujah. That judge will be having nightmares for years after this circus. Good on the jury.
Does anyone know if there was ever a cognizant explanation for why hate crime charges were not applied? He literally targeted mostly grandmothers and children who were dancing and drinking hot coco.
I recall he had made rap songs and FB posts threatening violence against select groups (police and whites etc).
How long did jury actually deliberate? One more question: why is Biden a keyword here?
Sounds marvelous.....
Right under 4 hours
LOL good one
He will get 6 life sentences and well over 800 years for the other charges.
The prosecutor mentioned that in an interview after the verdict.
The prosecution is in on it too. They showed his rap video because his jeep is in it and they explicitly requested the audio NOT be played because it would be "prejudicial" because he talks about killing White people.
