Yes. The few nights I tried it, I use the face mask I was given. I may ask the doctor about a few things described here. One poster mentions something that goes onto the nose.
I have very sensitive skin as well but, I have used KT tape in the past.
I put aloe vera over the spot after use.
Not cheap though but, the best aloe there is:

No thank you after waking up multiple times ripping off my mask because I was overwhelming by the feeling that I was being suffocated (took me forever to go back to sleep afterwards!) I gave it UP! I figured soon or later waking up like that would kill me loog before the Sleep Apnea did.
I’ve been using the free app Mintal to monitor my sleep.
It checks for sleep apnea and records snoring events, Apnea events per hour, total snore time, deep sleep, total sleep, etc.
If anyone is having sleep issues, I highly recommend it.
Too late, I missed my chance years ago to tape my wife’s mouth shut. He sleep apnea was a major contributing factor to divorce. Her lack of rem sleep made her a bit crazy.
Rookie. I was diagnosed less than 2 hours into my sleep study as waking up 82 times/hr.
Been using a CPAP since and sleeping through the night, waking up less than 3x/hr.
Waking up only 32 times/hr would've been a good night's sleep to me!
If your nose plugs, then you are breathing thru your mouth.
With the pressurized air not able to go through your nose, it “leaks” and blows on your mouth, giving you a double whammy.
I had this problem when I first started using CPAP.
My solution is pretty simple.
2 generic benedryl half hour before bedtime.
Helps you to sleep, and keeps your nose clear.
A tablespoon of EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) before bed.
This is pretty cool. Thanks!
First wife had severe sleep apnea. She would stop breathing in the middle of loud snoring. Her apnea was cured when the surgeon removed her uvula, thus removing the obstruction flap that was causing her to stop breathing.
I also used the nose mask, was so much more comfortable
Go to a doctor and get him in a sleep study. Most likely he will get a CPAP. It will take him weeks or months to get used to it. But it'll save his life. Otherwise he'll end up like Reggie White, former Defensive End for Green Bay Packers.
Thanks. I can tolerate Aloe V.
Have your dentist make a mold of your mouth & make a mouth guard. It stops grinding cold & is very easy to get used to.
Also, you keep the mold & just take it back when you need another one made. My dentist said virtually everyone grinds their teeth at night & it causes gum recession.
Benadryl is effective for my sinuses. Sometimes I only need half of one of those pink pills to do the job.
Just curious.....has anyone ever tried the pro dentum melt in the mouth probiotic gummy that is supposed to change the bacteria in your gut & mouth? It is advertised on line.
Gotta try that on my wife.
Please keep in mind that there are two types of apnea:
1. Obstructive sleep apnea, the more common form that occurs when throat muscles relax.
2. Central sleep apnea, which occurs when your brain doesn’t send proper signals to the muscles that control breathing.
Some people have both.
I have Central Apnea like my father did. He was 5ft10in and weighed 115 lbs. A bean pole.
He would stop breathing for several minutes, and then pop back into his body, choke/cough, and start again.
When I cared for him, many times I though he died, and then popped back into his body!
I’ve been reading and studying this. Ketosis is key in fighting hypoxia from apnea. It lowers the CO2 levels in the blood.
Benadryl is an antihistamine.
Histamines cause inflamation.
Inflammation causes obstruction.
Obstruction causes apnea.
Thus Benadryl works.
