But she wasn’t the one dancing at the end.

I’m not surprised. It seemed like a professional dance routine.
I don’t know much of anything about dance, except what looks difficult.

Speaking as a 64-year old, 63 is young. RIP Irene Cara.

63 is way too young. I'm only three years away from that mark and I'm expecting another 20-30 years of active life. I won't speculate but don't see anywhere where she had been ill.
I was dragged to that Flashdance movie in the early 1980s by some old girlfriend but that "Flashdance" theme by Irene Cara stuck with me, not to mention Jennifer Beals' leg warmers. That song also brings back memories of that particular girlfriend, who was also a bit of a "Maniac", to quote another song from that film.
Irene had had another big hit a few years earlier (in 1980) with "Fame."

Somewhat ironic that she sings “I’m gonna live forever” and then proceeds to not even make it to the average age for a Western woman.

In a way, she will live forever. Not too many people are remembered very long after they’re gone (except by friends/ family) but she will be one of those remembered by millions.
