My thoughts: I’m 90 y.o., but somehow, I feel jealous (that’s not not quite the right word) for this man. It would be great, when you lie down to die, to think you did something heroic in your life, that gave a young person chance to live.

Its stupid because he already had obligations and duties to his own family. He also still probably could have assisted in safer ways for a 70-year old.
