Now you are overpaying for everything. Even the self-park garages are starting to charge fees.
The slots are getting very tight as well. If you stick to the penny and nickel slots, it is almost impossible to get a decent jackpot and even on the penny slot, the minimum bet (to get a jackpot) is around $3 a spin.
I live in Connecticut now and will go to the Mohegan Sun from time to time. That's a decent experience. But the nearby Foxwoods is sort of run down and a haven for elderly bingo players that show up in those big buses. Sort of a drab place.
***the casinos gouge their customers,***
Was there in 2001 before 9-11. Stayed at the Circus Circus. Had a decent meal and when I looked at the bill they tried to pad it with beers we did not order. We drank tea.
Haven’t been back since and no desire to go.
Used to go there a lot, but once they started charging for parking and then adding a ‘facility fee’ to hotel rooms, I was done. If I want to be nickel and dimed, I’ll go to Disney.
I don’t gamble to begin with, but even if I did, I would be saving any extra cash I had to pay for my heating bills.
My favorite spot in Vegas was always on the north side of the strip, where they still had the old school casinos on the "seedy" side that had slots that used real coins instead of those aggravating paper tickets. So even a small jackpot would result in the loud clang-clang-clanging of hundreds of quarters dropping down that you had to scoop into those plastic buckets that you then lugged to the cashier. Then you'd take your cash and get yourself a monster steak at Binions or Golden Nugget and all the beer you could drink. That to me was the old Vegas I loved. Not sure if those are still around as that whole area has been gentrified into what is called the "Fremont Experience".
Who could ever say what the result of an honest and transparent and verifiable election would have been? Anywhere in this country.
Could it be the $45 resort fees or the $10 ATM fees or the tight as a horses ass slots?
“The story is BS. Check Nevada Gaming Commission stats. While the number of visitors is down gaming revenues are at all time highs”
Yeah. If they keep screwing over the visitors, eventually they are going to run out of other people’s money. Sound familiar?
Inflation is going to get worse before it gets better.
To hell with Vegas, and screw the mexican unions that run the city.
It was a far more hospitable town back in the days of the Sands, Desert Inn, Riviera, Hacienda, Aladdin, Flamingo, etc.
I really liked the Las Vegas of the late 70s and early 80’s. Now it sucks.
How to Fix Las Vegas (and all of Nevada) Make Vegas Great again!
1. Make drinking and gambling legal for 18 year olds! If they are old enough to fight—they should be old enough to gamble.
2. Make Prostitution legal in Vegas and Reno! Put up glitzy Brothels like they have in other parts of the world.
3. Designate areas and casinos for clothing optional —Not good in winter but a hit with German Tourists.
4. Put in high speed trains in Nevada from Vegas to Reno (and Carson City)—Then lines from San Francisco to Reno and From LA to Vegas.
5. Make Polygamic marriage legal —that would bring in Islamic Tourism, and Mormon Conservatives.
6. Change the money to hard silver dollars, and gold coins.
7. Establish Law and Order—When you do a crime in Vegas you die in Vegas.
8. Establish public hangings—sell tickets for hangings.
9. Have real circuses with Animals!
10. Build a Monument to the real founder of Vegas, Benjamin “Bugsy” Seigal.
11. Bring in some really world class acts to perform! Whole Broadway shows—The best people, comedians, actors etc...
12. Build a new Hollywood in Vegas. Make good films and bring in people from all over, China, India, Russia, etc...
Make some great Horror films and science fiction.
Here’s another good one. Turn the Las Vegas Motor Speedway into an interstate highway.
