Wow, just read this in the comments section:
This play literally saved the life of Steelers photographer Les Banos, who was on the roof, filming the “22.” He would have been on Roberto Clemente’s plane on December 31st, but the Steelers won stayed alive in the playoffs and had a game against the Dolphins on the 31st so Les had to work. He could go with Roberto, and so he lived another 39 years. True story.

One thing you notice is it appears that last Raider defender took a bad angle at Harris and thus couldn’t make the tackle. Had he been tackled, it’s unlikely they would have gotten the field goal off in time, although it’s possible if Franco got out of bounds, they might have had the chance to kick the winning FG.
