Besides my goofy rescue greyhound, I’ll be solo this Christmas Eve. All is well. Had some solid family time with my kids last night, and will be with family tomorrow.
But, for now, I’m enjoying a salted caramel latte, basking in the glow of the Christmas tree lights and about to plug George Bailey and company into the old Blu-ray player.
Anyone else spending this Christmas Eve alone?
Yes, and probably Christmas day also. Doesn’t bother me. Since my mother died, I don’t care anyway
I am. It is super cold here and I am just over being sick. Kind of lonely.
I have been spending some time this evening thinking about all the wonderful times at Christmas in the past!
I’m alone this Xmas eve. I usually go down to my sister’s, but she’s recovering from heart surgery so that would place too much stress on her. Going over for Xmas dinner tomorrow, though.

Yes, I have a bad cold so every one is avoiding me. Same with tomorrow,I’ll have to stay here with my dog and cat.
When you’re a schizophrenic you’re never alone. :)
I will be alone again tomorrow. I will be happy when it is all over and the weather warms up here.
Yes. First time alone in a very long time. My wife died of brain cancer earlier in the year, but I will be in contact with family on Christmas Day and still be thankful to Him for all the blessings and grace he bestows on us all.
At least your pets haven’t forsaken you! LOL
It’s just the two of us, tonight. And the Beagle. We’re grilling steaks and are then going to watch, ‘Die Hard’ which is TRADITION.
Mayhem and madness breaks out on Monday when my family arrives and we got news today that Beau’s sister and family will be here for an upcoming wedding on the 30th, so they’ll stay with us all next week. They were staying with another family member who ‘says’ he has Covid. FAKE NEWS!
Not sure Walmart has enough food to feed that brood, but we’ll try. :)
It will be just hubby and me tonight and tomorrow. Kids and grand-kids are going to in-law’s homes for Christmas celebrations. Which is fine, since they live within walking distance of us and we see them all the time.
It seems that I recall a thread every year here on FR for those that are spending Christmas alone. Most seem to enjoy the opportunity to have some quiet time to themselves as they contemplate the year to come.
I think this is the first year that hubby and I will spend such a quiet Christmas. In the past, we all gathered at my Mom and Dad’s house for Christmas Day. Dad passed away 20 years ago, but mother continued the tradition and we descended upon her place every year. She cooked the ham and all of us children brought the side dishes. She passed away a couple months ago so this will be the first Christmas we have celebrated after the last of her generation in our family has passed away. I suspect without Mother as the anchor, our family holiday celebrations will become more and more separated as each does their own thing.
Whether with family, or all by yourself at home, I wish each and every Freeper a wonderful and Merry Christmas and a safe and properous New Year.
My lovely wife is an RN and she works weekends 7-7 nights. So, yes...
May your wife Rest In Peace.
From me to you, who ever you are, bless you. Keep the lower lights burning.
I am.
When you’re bipolar, you always have a buddy to talk to.
Just the 3 of us here. With the sub and near zero temps the last 2 days many of the roads are closed, thus staying home is almost mandatory. Our church even canceled its Christmas eve service, which makes sense due to weather and bad roads. Merry Christmas to all my fellow Freepers.
Nope. I have all the voices in my head to keep me company. Shut up! Oh sorry, not you.
