Yeah. I figured it out. There’s an identical internet anagram that’s not so nice.
I’m so broke I cannot pay attention. Nothing but prayers for yall
Am unaware of the alternative. Sorry for the confusion from my post
Not one of your better moments
Thanks for the ping Civ.
Salamander, I’ll send what I can, including prayers! May the Lord bless you and hold you close during this time of trial.
Several years ago I received notice from the town where I have a house near the ocean. It said there had been severe storms and I had roof damage. If not repaired the house would be torn down in one month. I went to see the town’s permits man. He said line up a contractor to do the roof repairs. I actually needed a new roof. I lined up someone and made a downpayment. Then Covid hit. It took months before the work started with tearing off the roof and covering part with tarp, and another part with OSB panels that were not sealed with tape as they should have been.
Sloppy work by the contractor’s subcontractor resulted in 2 second floor ceilings lost, and damage to first floor ceiling under the bedrooms. Then the contractor was unfindable. I again met with the permits man. He told me when and where to find the contractor, who had opened a restaurant and closed his contractors business. He moved the work forward after we met, but lost his restaurant because of his stupid violation of Covid rules. I now have a new roof, but I had to buy and install my own French doors for the large dormer addition I had ordered, and the roof edges and cove molding still need to be installed. I hope you will find this information useful in dealing with the house issue. Perhaps you could tell me what State you live in, and how large the community your house is in. I have dealt with property both in small towns and large cities. You can PM me if you wish.
As to the loss of dogs and part of house, and not crying. Turn on sad music, say goodby to each you have lost, and cry as long and as hard as you can. An hour and one half is not unusual. Repeat as feelings become overwhelming again. I cared for my mother and husband as they were dying around 2000. Crying really helped. Now I am dealing with my brother and partner fighting cancer. Crying still helps. For the moment they are both improving with treatment. I wish you the very best in dealing with your multiply losses and troubles. Thank goodness you have the FReeper family for help.
It occurred to to me that if you know any real estate agents, they might know what to expect regarding condemnation.
However, I noticed while internet searching that condemned properties are apparently considered hot real estate items. Owners are probably willing to accept unrealistically low offers.
I will NOT leave here no matter the offer.
It is my ancestral home and my dogs are buried here.
Never.
What did I do?
How and where can I make a donation to you?
Prayers up.
I’m in Maryland. You need help with clean up? Let me know.
Diesel and matches and a rope and a chair.Shes going through a lot dude.
Good lord. I meant for the adjusters to help persuade them not to condemn. Geez, my infantry humour is missed by most I guess.
Sorry that I took it wrong.
Thanks for serving.
Prayers out for you and your family!
I took it wrong when I looked again, thanks for pointing it out. I love salamander. I wish there was more I could do.
