Just thinking about it if the rumors are true about the concessions (and they better be in writing) then Rep. Kevin McCarthy will be the most constrained and hobbled Speaker in a long time.
Think about it.
The motion to vacate has been restored so if they (conservatives) want to ditch him in future they can call a vote.
Regular order has been restored (it seems) so no more 4,000 page bills released in the dead of night written by lobbyists.
A Church committee under the auspices of Jim Jordan's Judiciary committee.
The ability to defund agencies and salaries (Holman rule).
These are important wins I feel.
The votes on legislation we all know are a joke.
However, Speaker McCarthy has been significantly weakened and constrained and I think this was a fight worth having even if I'm disappointed that he gets the job.

And THAT is a good thing!
Klaus uh Kevin has to be restrained from shafting the American people with the wrong kind of actions as House Speaker.
Constrained? He will be nothing more than a neutered eunuch. Powerless.
But that’s OK. The entire GOP is just as ineffective and powerless as he is.

Makes no difference. He is the same traitor, with new promises. He still took FTX cash to work against conservative candidates. None of the promises are enforceable.

Investigations? When Fauci or Hunter is a no show, when the FBI or CDC refuse to provide documents, etc. You gonna send a contempt of congress citation to Merrick Garland for enforcement?
No power of the purse since the GOP gave that away until 2024 last month.

Think of a cheating spouse. They won’t stop. You find ways to exercise leverage over them and they finally grudgingly agree to your rules if you’ll keep them.
