Dawn Landes (born December 5, 1980 in Louisville, Kentucky) is an American singer-songwriter and musician currently based in New York City. She is also a sometimes-member of the band Hem, where she has lent her voice to harmony vocals, and played glockenspiel. She has worked as an audio engineer at Stratosphere Sound in New York City and at Philip Glass' own personal recording studio. She has shared the stage with artists such as Josh Ritter (to whom she was married), Suzanne Vega, Jose Gonzalez, Feist, The Weakerthans, Andrew Bird, Midlake, Alexi Murdoch and many others.
Raised in the fertile musical fields of Branson, Missouri and Louisville, Kentucky, Landes came to New York City in 1999 and did a cannonball into the music scene. While holding down several jobs to pay the rent, she abandoned university (NYU) and began to intern at some of the best studios in the city. "I had very little experience", she says. "I was just really, really curious. Dangerously curious in the studio… I picked heros like Tchad Blake and Brian Wilson and took a flying leap."

She's got the perfect voice for this song and she's backed by some great studio musicians.
Oh, the wind and rain
Coming down so hard again
Feels like it's never gonna stop
Hands up if you've had enough
I don't remember when it started to storm
It was cloudy, the air was warm
I wasn't ready, you took me by surprise
What was brewing in those dark eyes
Oh, the wind and rain
Coming down so hard again
Feels like it's never gonna stop
Hands up if you've had enough
They say an ocean can destroy a shore
A wildfire wreck a forest floor
Oh, nature shows no mercy
But I never thought you'd turn on me
Oh, the wind and rain
Coming down so hard again
Feels like it's never gonna stop
Hands up when you've had enough
If it hits right now it's gonna strike again
Counting down from ten
You can make a lot of noise
But you can't drown out my voice
I can't fight it, now I know
I just decide to let the winds blow
Come morning, it'll be alright
Good thing I can sleep at night
Oh, the wind and rain
Coming down so hard again
Feels like it's never gonna stop
Hands up when you've had enough
Hands up if you've had enough
Hands up, I've had enough
atmospheric rivers
nobody ever talks about jet streams anymore
Atmospheric Rivers
Bomb Cyclones
Polar Vortex

Steaming load of greenie eco-crap.
yep
scratch a greenie and you will find a commie underneath
Winter rain, now tell me why, Summers fade, and roses die.
The answer came; the wind and rain.
Golden hills, now veiled in gray, Summer leaves have blown away
Now what remains? The wind and rain.
How about the old ballad Dreadful Wind and Rain? Lots of recordings of that song out there.
I’m more of a Wind Cries Mary and A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall kinda guy
I saw lots of recordings of that ballad while searching for this song.
They’re “watermelons”...
