Astrophysicist Natalie Gosnell says field is riddled with ‘white supremacy’
It’s a different kind of space race.
A Colorado astrophysicist who says the field is paralyzed by “systemic racism and white supremacy” and “very violent and hyper-masculine” terminology — such as “vampire star” or “cannibal star” — is speaking out about combating these issues in the classroom and beyond.
“As an astrophysicist, I’m a product of institutions that are steeped in systemic racism and white supremacy,” Natalie Gosnell, PhD, an assistant professor of physics at Colorado College, said in an interview published in the school’s newspaper this month.
Gosnell, who holds a doctorate in astronomy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and is a recipient of the prestigious Cottrell Scholar Award, argued that “tenets of white supremacy” like “individualism and exceptionalism and perfectionism” shape everything from the direction of physics research to the language used by scientists.

I hope Natalie gets the deprogramming she desperately needs to live a normal and productive life. Shame to see her ruining a career by following such a foolish and hate driven agenda.
Also, as a scientist I suggest she seek objective data on the accomplishments of white males vs other populations. Not as a justification of any superiority, but clearly an ocean vs lake delta to consider before criticizing and condemning those who have added such great value to the world.

And her failings are due to racism?
She’s probably been rejected for tenure, lost any research grants she had, and has made herself toxic among potential collaborators - and is now grasping at any means possible to increase her job security.
She should stick to astrophysics and leave the woke garbage behind!!!!
