Is he still in Mexico, or did he return to North Carolina? From the article:
“When it was discovered, I fully cooperated with the authorities, accepted the penalties, and returned to North Carolina,” Busch’s statement continued.

Kyle Busch was in the USA when the trial was held and the sentence was handed down.
He is not in a Mexican jail.

This is very confusing. Where is he now. In Mexico or NC? Would they have let him leave Mexico with a sentence pending? And if he is in the US then will he go back to serve his sentence?

He’s in North Carolina. As best as I can tell, he was given a promise to appear and sentenced in absence. If he ever returns to Mexico, he might then be required to serve his sentence.
Maybe Cancun will lure him with a discount weekend package.
