Canada complains that New York is using a legal loophole to send migrants its way, buying them bus tickets to the border

An immigration official in Quebec has said it is "surprising" that New York authorities are sending migrants to Canada's border.

Quebec immigration minister Christine Fréchette made the comment after the New York Post reported that National Guards are handing out free bus tickets for migrants to travel to Plattsburgh, in the north of New York state.

From there, migrants hire cabs to take them on the 30-mile trip to cross the Canadian border via Roxham Road...

Under the Safe Third Country agreement, signed by the US and Canada in 2002, migrants seeking asylum must file their claim in the first country they enter, whether it is the US or Canada. But the agreement does not cover unofficial border entry points, such as Roxham Road...

Wondering what an ‘unofficial border entry point’ is. We needed passports to get in.

I wish Governor Abbott would start a “caravan” of luxury buses from our border to the Canadian border. Start by emptying out El Paso. Canada would be a hell of a lot more “comfortable and safer” for the “refugees” than the U.S. is. Canadians don’t have guns.

All of those “migrants” from Central and South America will LOVE Canada in winter. Homeless camps in Canada are a long line of igloos as camping tents are slightly uncomfortable when it is 20 below zero.

Remember when NYC Mayor complained about Texas sending illegals his way.... 🧐

Interesting that the party which supports mass illegal immigration cannot deal with the problems and ships them off to another country.

Canada should bus them to Denmark.

Are they being shipped to the Canadian border by NYC or Martha’s Vinyard? Both, no doubt. Perhaps, Texas, Az and Florida should follow their lead and load them up on busses as they cross the southern border and ship them to the northern border

We need to put up signs at our border saying, “Welcome to Ukraine. Trespassers will be shot or blown up.”

Brilliant Idea, although it will take subsidies and engineering to get them to the land border, which has only an unofficial crossing. Still, placing everyone on an express bus at the border, getting them as close as possible for the moment, and then providing a kayak for the rest of the journey could be implemented quickly.

should NYC be stripped of their ‘sanctuary city’ status, or do they get to keep on virtue-signaling? Will they facilitate sending Jamacians, Haitians and Chinese to another country or are they just prejudiced against South Americans? Enquiring minds want to know!

Thus confirming the hoax of “sanctuary cities” as more virtue signaling nonsense.

Those Yankee democrats are about to put on MAGA hats when it comes to illegal immigration.

Now that is in their backyard, we’ll see changes in their talk and actions.

Read the story.

This also sounds like NYC’s way of obscuring that they are bussing them back to CA, FL, TX, etc. I mean, how many of these “migrants” are going to opt for Canada over California? (DeSantis *might* scare them away from Florida.)
