So, let the Tesla and EV folks pay for all of it, themselves, instead of robbing those of us who buy into the EV nonsense.

Did the U.S. govt give subsidies and cash to the oil companies when they were building gas stations everywhere?

Nope, didn’t think so.

F these gdamn traitors. I hope they all burn in hell.

What this probably means is Tesla will allow everyone else to use their plug

That’s my interpretation. Sort of kills the brand’s “boutique” vibe, though, letting the riff-raff use the bespoke charging stations.

Seems to me that the ones promoting & selling the EVs should either make it on their own merit (and financing) or forget it.

Exactly....as long as the US taxpayers, most of whom do not own or want an EV, pay the bill to convert old chargers and build new charges to the demands of the feds. Whether we want to or not.

Pres Trump came out and said that he has no problem with EVs, but that the government shouldn’t be in the business of subsidizing the industry.

Sink or Swim.

Guys like Musk, who built his company on government subsidies when his first cars came out, don’t like that kind of talk.

Hell, isn’t one of the reasons he built the cheaper model is because the more expensive models don’t qualify for the subisdy?

Subsidies...

“Such matters are also challenging considering that SpaceX has not only received significant subsidies from the U.S. government, but that the U.S. Agency for International Development reportedly also paid the company to send over 1,000 Starlink terminals to Ukraine.”

Of course there is no money to pay for this so #FJB will have it printed with a keystroke on the national debt of $32 trillion causing more inflation. You would think the younger generation would be upset about the big picture of this country but they are too busy getting fat and playing video games.

Tesla’s always at the government’s teat.

And they’re also still working the carbon credit grift.

I would imagine that’s why Musk is on Team DeSantis. Desantis hasn’t come out and said anything EVs and subsidies, as far as I know.

While Pres Trump has said he isn’t a fan of the government help and EVs should be relegated to the free market.

Kind of easy to see why he would support one over the other.
