Well, I went to the site to get my daily fix of Dilbert, and it is no longer there.

I thought Scott Adams owned the URL, but now I'm guessing that the syndicate owns it.

That’s too bad. Having liven in the corporate world 26 years now, it’s all too true.

It looks like Adams is turning Dilbert into a subscription instead of posting it for free.

He’s got to make money somehow. Over the month, he’s lost a lot.

Self-immolation has consequences.

Self-immolation has consequences.

That might be self-immolation but it may also be the smart way to void contracts and reclaim his rights to Dilbert, like the former "Disney stars" who sue to be emancipated from their parents and act out vulgarly to force Disney to walk away from punitive contracts.

Thinking Adams is too old and vexxine-injured to have much of a second act.

Thinking Adams is too old and vexxine-injured to have much of a second act.

This is likely reclaiming ownership of the first act like musicians do if they're fortunate enough to be able to get out of bad contracts. They gain a higher percentage for every music sale, album cover image on t-shirts, etc. Yes, they sell fewer greatest hits albums but the band itself makes much, much more on each sale.

Scott Adams' audience has always been corporate workers, mostly white and Asian, and mostly male. Annoying others who are "offended" by his statements about white and Asian victimization may actually increase his sales once he can decouple from woke Propaganda Media companies.

Cartoons / comics some might find offensive sell, especially in the Internet meme world. Look at shows like 'Family Guy'. People who've never seen a single episode can view edgy "shorts" online and share them with friends.
