The effects of foreign corruption situations, on the part of foreign countries on domestic US politics is, usually, incidental. These countries are trying to buy influence with US persons or groups that they perceive as holding power.

That’s because few understood how corrupt the US SYSTEM was. These are not problems isolated to certain persons. The acts of the Clintons, or Biden, and etc. political “faces”, are just epiphenomena of a much broader and deeper situation.
Personalizing all this is a mistake, a misunderstanding.

Oddly enough I think you are right. Joe must have much guilt on his conscience about his daughter, if he is capable of guilt.
