I'm seriously considering a day trip to NYC tomorrow to hang out near Trump Tower on 5th Avenue. If I knew how to do it I'd even make a fairly big sign with the words "BANANA REPUBLIC".
Anyone else considering such a visit>
I wouldn’t step foot in the state much less the city................
Leave your phone at home.
I get calls from corporate recruiters regularly about open executive-level positions in NYC in my industry. It seems like everyone in NYC who works in my field has retired or quit in the last 2-3 years.
I always tell them that I will never work in New York City again.
I had one guy reach out to me with a very interesting position that wasn't in New York City. Today, I'll be telling him that I have no interest in the opportunity just because NYC is included in the territory covered by the position.
Bad Idea, unless the weather is supposed to be great and you have somethings to do in NYC.
The Feds are going to coax some sort of negative reaction and there is no reason to be anywhere near there. They did it in J6 and will do it again.
We sometimes have to drive thru that state, giving NYC a wide, wide berth....and we try to hold our breath as long as we can. We don’t spend a penny, and we don’t stop for nothin’....no fuel, no food, no pee-pee....well, maybe a pee-pee IF really needed.../s
I admire your conviction!
But you will be a target.
We should all be demonstrating in every city, in front of every mainstream media affiliate, handing out real news.

That’s good advice. Leave your credit card home, too.
Oh, and it might be a good idea to wear sunglasses at all times. You know, to protect your eyes and stuff.
I ordered a Trump 2024 flag that should arrive today. I plan to stand on a freeway overpass tomorrow.
I’m with Red Badger on this. I didn’t go to DC on January 6th 2021 for a number of reasons, including that I expected there to be trouble waiting for those who did.
I’ve seen reports already that NYC’s government is setting up waiting for folks to come and protest. And unlike the BLM folks, I don’t expect that to work out well.
Paraphrasing a Vietnam-era slogan: “What if they had an Insurrection, and no one came?”
I think the FBI would arrest people anyway.
Remove all weapons and electronic devices from your home and hide them somewhere else...in expectation of the loud banging on your door at 3am...accompanied by cries of “FBI. Open up!” and the eventual house search. Hire a lawyer BEFORE you go.
No.
I’m all for protesting and in any other time a show of support would be good. But in our current banana republic, and especially in NYC, they’ll use any sign of resistance to further their political narrative.
If anything - setup your protesting in a red state.
In the 90s, I lived {worked} in Manhattan for a few years and always carried {without a permit}, but since NYC was killing people at the rate of 2000 + per year, I didn't care about the ban on my self protection.
I took my family to NYC just after 9/11 and carried but have avoided NYC since then.
I love Trump, but I don't travel without my two pals, Smith and Wesson, in various sizes.
Geeze...I’d have to travel about 1,000 miles to get to a red state!
Bad idea. Demonstrate outside your local TV station or DemocRat HQ. True, you won’t make the news, but you likely won’t be killed by Antifa brownshirts or imprisoned by a Soros DA.
Despite me moving on from Trump, if I lived in the area, I'd consider doing so as well. But I'd like to see the alleged actions and charges first and not simply be jumping to the latest outrage like a lemming. We do need, at the right time and place, and sustained, show our displeasure of the persecution of Trump.
He thought of going there, so he's already guilty of a thought crime.
No. I always avoid crowds, no matter the cause or reason. Crowds always remind me of mobs, and I don’t trust the altered human psychology of the mob. Many a Jan 6 innocent has been tarred by a few. I don’t blame the innocent, other than very early I would not have stayed among the mob, suspecting anything I may not support could happen.
And only use cash and wear a mask and sunglasses.
