March 20: Shohei Ohtani and Japan rallied beat Mexico 6-5 Monday night in Miami to advance to the World Baseball Classic championship against Team USA.
The WBC title game is Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT at LoanDepot Park.

It has been easy, over the last few years, to get jaded over sports, but the WBC has been a blast. Japan rallied to beat Mexico tonight. Japan vs USA tomorrow night. It should be fun.

Interesting game. 3:36 time. Two runs by Japan in the bottom of the ninth won the game. Both teams are equally talented and the game could have gone either way. A cheap seat costs $113.

Only bummer is that Jose Altuve broke his thumb, and Edwin Diaz tore up his right knee celebrating Puerto Rico’s win.
Diaz will miss the entire 2023 season.

I’m torn a bit, because I am a huge Ohtani fan.
Hopefully this will help increase the popularity of baseball again. It’s strange how it seems the other countries are more passionate about this tournament than Americans are.

I was at the Monday game. Great fun. It was like what I imagine a world cup game is like. 65% Mex, 30% Japanese. A neutral field. Cool!
