We had a couple of old Mercedes Benzes with a 4 on the tree.
Well I hope they caught them and hopefully on death row.
Let me guess: more of Obama’s sons playing fast and furious?!

It said ‘teens’ so my guess is your guess is correct.
They can’t drive a manual shift nor can they read; they must be the outstanding products of the Washington DC. school system.
My first two cars were automatic.
I thought it would be helpful to have a little experience before learning to drive a standard; however, I had more control with the standard. It was funny how guys were surprised that I knew how to drive one. I loved my truck and kept that for 25 years.
When the kids came along, we bought a automatic minivan. On those days when the van was in the shop, I would hop into the truck. It was like riding a bike. You never forget.
I learned to drive manual transmission in 1960 in my boyfriend’s 1941 Ford Deluxe 2 door sedan.
The transmission was so loose that sometimes you could shift without engaging the clutch.
It didn’t have a heater or radio, and he had to carry a quart jar of gas so he could prime the carburetor to get it started.
To use the horn, there was a loose wire dangling that you had to touch to something metal.
Oh, and to roll the windows up or down, the handle was kept in the glove compartment.
Needless to say, this was before safety inspections were a thing.
My first car was a 1959 Karman Ghia. Four on the floor with overdrive. My family bought it used in 1966.
I wonder when driver’s ed stopped training on manual transmissions?
Carjackers deserve punishment.
Why Carjacking Is on the Rise Among Teens in America

Sometimes along with being pistol whipped or punched to the cement as the carjacker overpowers them, many are in danger of death and some are killed.

What! He couldn’t find an app for his cellphone that would shift the transmission for him. ROTFLMAO. Rookie RAT.
Those were the good old days when you had to stick a pencil in the butterfly valve to get the car going.
My best friend in high school had bought a used a yellow Karman Ghia! She totaled it in the first week of ownership! She had to go back to borrowing her Dad’s station wagon. Later he bought a Saab for her…weird little car…

Also manual transmission.
You had a great Dad!

In Kalifornia they have draconian auto/smog regulations. A friend has an older pickup truck. He replaced the 2 barrel carburetor with a 4 barrel carburetor. The 4 is more fuel efficient. One time, the truck passed the smog test, but not the visual inspection test. They would not issue the smog certification with the better, 4 barrel carburetor. He went home, put the 2 barrel back, obtained his smog cert, and then put the 4 barrel back on the engine. Busy body bureaucrats

Thank you. He would do anything for his family. He passed away two years ago at the age of 79. We all miss him so much.
Bought my first car when I was 14.. ‘79 Honda Civic (stick shift, of course).

I provided such entertainment where I lived at a small apartment complex. My old car had a sticky carb, so I would use a Bic pen to hold it open while I got in to get the engine going. Then I would jump back out and with a pair of leather gloves beat out the carb fire that ensued. All of the old folks at the complex would avidly watch through their windows every morning, certain that they would need to call the fire department. They were sad when I moved.
Back to lurk mode.
I learned to drive on a standard and didn’t drive an automatic until I did the six hours mandated by drivers ed, I’ve always wondered if, in right-hand drive cars like in Britain and Japan, if the shift pattern is the same, is 1st gear up and to the left or to the right?
