An 18-year-old has reportedly been arrested for breaking into NBA legend Michael Jordan's $15million mansion in Chicago.
The 60-year-old Jordan was not in the property at the time, according to TMZ, but the teenager was found inside the building after neighbors alerted the police in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 4.
The teenager has been named as Raiden Hagerdorn by local media and has been charged criminal trespass and two counts of criminal damage to property.
Jordan has not lived at the property since 2012. He has been trying to sell it for 13 years, initially putting it up for sale for $29million. TMZ says its latest value is just under $15m.
The property has nine bedrooms. 19 baths, an indoor basketball gymnasium, pool, tennis court and cigar room.

His mansion in Chicago was recently used for a video shot for the Travis Scott song 'Franchise'.
A mansion is not the only thing Jordan is trying to sell at the moment. His NBA team, the Charlotte Hornets, are also reportedly on the market.
He holds a majority stake in the team worth $1.7billion and is looking to sell after 13 years as owner of the franchise.

If he’s trying to sell it for $15 million, and failing, then it’s not a “$15 million mansion.” A mansion, like a sick chicken, is “worth” whatever someone will pay you in a free transaction today.
The man is a big timebgambler. Jordan has been known to lose millions everytime he’s in Vegas.
He could have been the first to lay claim as a squatter then invited friends. LOTS of friends.
Look at the house and try to imagine the electricity, water, and gas it takes to keep that place pristine and perfect 365 days a year whether anyone is living there or not.
Imagine all the contractors and service people and maids gardeners and such that care for the place and all the gasoline they use.
Estates like that consume resources at the rate of small factories or moderate apartment complexes, yet so many of our top environmental activists own multiples of those, and when they are not in a house they stay at hotels and resorts that consume resources at a huge rate per occupant, same
with the restaurants they use, the jet travel, vacations, everything they do consumes environmental resources far beyond anything we do.
Just think of all the homeless he could shelter in that unused building. And how happy the neighbors would be about that.
Mansions are the hugest suck on assets. For how much house most people use. The millionaires who keep their wealth monetize their houses, whether it be renting it back to themselves through theor business or actually running businesses through them.
I struggle for money at this point in my life and am often tempted to resent the massive imbalances of wealth in this country.
Also, it seems silly to me how some folks can be so massively wealthy whereas I for instance can’t afford the schools my kids can easily get in to, or we can’t eat “steaks”for a special occassion that aren’t on the 50% off rack and need to be soaked in lemon juice, or stress about the price of gas I’m told by my élite masters I’m a fat capitalist to use.
I regret having no retirement. I regret, now, never having been part of a union... But I didn’t believe in it at the time.
I think sports stars are insanely paid.
But, when I was younger and doing better I didn’t resent them. I counted myself as believing in the dream.
Some people realize the big dream, some people don’t.
I can’t change m principles just because I didn’t succeed in the ways I would have preferred.
The place looks like a dentist office. It’s a soulless concrete monstrosity with dead eyes. Random swoops combined with a massively unimpressive entry. Unless impressive is measured by sheer ton of concrete poured. It’s sad to see the design firm was working on a hospital plan for Integris when Jordan called. Imagine how much time the architect saved by converting his hospital plan for Jordan’s use! A spectacular efficiency! Michael Jordan I would guess he always wanted his own hospital.
My point was about the environmental hypocrisy of rich liberals, not wealth.
I know the experience of replacing normal pipes with larger water pipes to supply a new massive $4,000 dollar showerhead and then getting the customer to talk about how environmental they are in their political voting.
I thought the photo of Jordan’s house might help people who don’t know that kind of house, understand how much electricity, water, gas, and constant staff and service people they take to operate, some of them use elevators, real elevators, to go to the second floor, the meters for utilities are commercial meters, multiple commercial water heaters, and that constant flow of contractors and service people during the work day hours, there are always things that need doing at those places.
I agree on the hypocrisy. David Suzuki is one of the biggest hyocrites in thebworld, because he owns nine houses while he tells us to learn to enjoy grubs and maggots.

I think it was in the 90’s where the Parachute Jump, a ride in Coney Island, which was idle for years was being sold for one dollar. The caveat was if you bought it, you had to remove it at your own expense.

I get your point for sure. But I don’t recall MJ ever putting himself on that “holier than thou” pedestal of I’m Mr. Green. MJ made a point of staying out of right / left political bulljive because in his words “republicans buy gym shows too”.
Property taxes alone would bankrupt most people.
A squatter in Chicago. They should pack the place with homeless people. Would love to see that on tv.

All I know about this guy is that he played pro basketball somewhere, I wasn’t trying to say anything about him but was using the house as an example of something.
For some reason, I thought that the house picture was a good visual of what it takes to keep these places going, and so many of our most vocal environmentalists own places similar to this and have this lifestyle of multiple estates, empty, but consuming at vast rates.
