WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration will propose strict new automobile pollution limits this week that would require at least 54% of new vehicles sold in the U.S. to be electric by 2030 and as many as two of every three by 2032, according to industry and environmental officials briefed on the plan.

Unless and until the technology VASTLY improves, EVs are silly and I will not buy one.
SCOTUS has already said that it is.
However, Big Government crony Big Auto doesn't have the spine to fight the EPA in court.
Yeah!
Nobody saw this $#!t coming.
Meanwhile, our Deep State is exporting record amounts of our energy.
And it looks like Europe’s Deep States are backpeddling on the EV crap.
$#!+ will really hit the fan if they make their stated goal and the grid collapses...
Apparently everyone has forgotten the lesson of Central Planning that the Soviet Union taught us.
The goal is not to force people to buy EVs. The goal is to force people to move to densely populated democrat controlled cities and ride mass transit.
Both EVs and mass transit are, and will forever be, impractical for people living in the much less populated rural "flyover" counties and states.
Makes me want to purchase several gas powered cars for safe keeping and investment.
But then how ya gonna power that fan?
Didn’t SCOTUS just make a ruling a year or so ago that massively curtailed this federal thugocracy’s power to write these kind of laws??
i didnt see anything about expanding the electrical grid
it will be shut up and get on the bus
dont wait
get in on the ground floor of uber rickshaw
There is NO plan for the massive expansion required of the electrical grid. That says a lot. And, Biden’s 20 year moratorium on lithium mining in the USA so all batteries have to come from China.
If this were truly environmental they could mandate hybrids which would cut gas demand by about 75% and not require a grid expansion.
The Rs wined and dined Big Business for the past 50 (+/-) years. Is this the thanks they get for all that tax friendly legislation?
Ford, GM and Dodge might as well hang it up.
No one is going to buy an EV from them.
good point, but my new tesla can power my house for about an hour...
“Apparently everyone has forgotten the lesson of Central Planning that the Soviet Union taught us.”
It’s okay. Now we have the really, really, really smart Joe Biden who will impose Central Planning.
“The EPA rule is unconstitutional. SCOTUS has already said that it is.”
Then it is effectively a nothingburger, correct?
I actually worked with some development engineers that think Central Planning is the preferred way to go. It relieves them of having to make decisions.
