Actor Billy Gardell has detailed his impressive 150-pound weight loss, revealing he’s no longer diabetic.

The “Mike & Molly” alum told Entertainment Tonight that he’s “walking around pretty healthy these days” as his weight now “floats between 205 and 210.”

“I think you got to find peace with yourself and at some point, look in the mirror and go you know, it’s probably time to take care of you,” he told the outlet. “Then I didn’t get that note early on. So I’m a big believer that when you get it, you get it. It doesn’t matter when. As long as you get it.”

Ozempic commercial

It says this guy did a commercial for Diabetes medicine Ozempic in 2021. Ozempic is now what celebrities are taking to lose weight. I wonder if he lost sponsorships because of his weight loss.

He’s still a diabetic, as he will find out as he gets older.

Been there, done that. So much Bravo Sierra on the Innertubes about diabetes.

I used to watch “Mike and Molly” when it was still on the air. It was a good show, but I used to wonder how long Mike and Molly would actually live, given their morbid obesity. Good to see this guy beat this problem. Hope he can keep the weight off.

Let's try 600 pixel width. Show to be renamed "Mini-Me and Molly"

I congratulate him on his weight loss. I’m in need of shedding a few pounds as well.

I understand that there is a surprising amount of longevity amongst concentration camp survivors. Low calorie diets appear to lead to longevity.

This is of interest to me because I lost my stomach due to cancer and had a giant weight loss. I was not obese to begin with but I was a 70 year old with 220 lbs on a 6’1” frame. I walked 3 miles a day and had hypertension. Then chemo and no stomach and BOOM a 85 pound weight loss and I looked like a concentration camp survivor.

Blood pressure now in range, resting heat rate low, never winded. All new clothes except for socks. Had to throw away and give away a very nice wardrobe.

Since then in three years I have put 20 pounds back on with most of that in muscle.

You are the one spreading BS. I know many, MANY people who have gotten rid of type 2 diabetes by going on low-carb diets (and have gotten rid of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and a host of other problems).

Whether you realize it or not, you are discouraging people with your lie.

Shame on you!

I remember he was a spokesperson for ozempic when it was a diabetes drug and not a weight loss drug. Good on him.

They still have diabetes. They are just doing dietary workarounds that keep their blood sugar down. Let them go back to a normal diet and they will find out how “cured” they really are.

You mean a normal diet of high-sugar foods (which is what carbs are)?

The point is that a high-carb diet isn't normal.

Your comment is like telling a drunk who has gotten sober that if he starts drinking again, his problems will return...so why quit drinking.

Excessive enlarged adipose tissue causes I saline resistance. Assuming his pancreas is working normally- he is not diabetic, and his blood sugars will be better controlled even on his old diet (until he starts to regain the extra weight).

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Losing weight and eating healthy can definitely get rid of type 2 diabetes.

If diet fixes their blood sugar levels so that they no longer need insulin or drugs, then that is an acceptable fix.

There is diabetes and there is insulin-dependence. And there are .... well ....
Hyperinsulinemia causes people to have Type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetics can do things to reduce their daily dependence on insulin. They can usually get back to just relying on their own pancreas.
Type 1 diabetics have to get insulin another way. Every day. For the rest of their life/lives on earth.
