There really ought to be a lawyer out there willing to make a case of this. Another reason to avoid Amazon at any cost.
I bought a Kindle, but only to read PDF files.
I refuse to activate my Kindle's WiFi, so it can't connect to Amazon. This way, Amazon can't spy on what I'm reading.
I download PDF books onto my laptop, mainly from Archive.org. Then I connect my Kindle to my laptop via a USB cable, and transfer the files.
