Good Job pilots! Good /well built aircraft.
Ignoring the failed nose landing gear, I guess.
Nice video. Looks like the passengers were prepared for a rough landing. I would imagine after the plane stopped, the crew was treated to a rousing ovation.
Ah! No problem. That’ll buff right out, and she’ll be back in the air in a couple days.
You beat me to it. 😁
I’ve flown on quite a few of those. They are old McDonnell Douglas MD-95’s (DC-9 family). Basically, the greyhound bus of the air.
“Delta Air Lines flight DL1092 now arriving at Gate 10....Gate 11....Gate 12....”
I heard a man discussing boycotts and he said they are almost always symbolic. He said the beer one is a great triumph but rare.
He said some things just cannot be avoided to punish the woke types such as flying. He said Delta goes to places others cannot go so people who want to punish the profoundly woke Delta cannot do so if they monopolize some routes.
“Ignoring the failed nose landing gear, I guess”
That’s more than likely faulty maintenance. Possibly metal fatigue but still related to maintenance and inspection.....or lack there of.
There’s a reason aircraft maintenance records are meticulously kept......or are supposed be anyway.
“Ignoring the failed nose landing gear, I guess.”
That would be maintenance.
I’m obsessed with those videos about plane crashes and how eventually they always seem to tie it back to faulty maintenance from years before.
“Looks like the passengers were prepared for a rough landing”
Except for the potential for soiled undergarments......mine sure woulda been. 😏
First you say it, then you do it.
I’m sure well qualified Atlanta ground crew checked everything before take off
Maintenance and especially preventative maintenance are imperative in aviation.
No pulling into the breakdown lane, popping the hood and calling AAA at 30,000 feet.
It was my gig for 37 years. 6 in the private sector, 31 with the DoD attached to the US Navy.
The Navy aircraft Maintenance was less than stellar......federal government employees basically impervious to termination working on jets, jet engines and vertical lift aircraft. Many hired through affirmative action hiring policies.....let that sink in for a minute.
To this day I still look back in disbelief that a class A mishap never occurred.
Delta and others bid on Essential Air Service, EAS, and they get a ton of taxpayer money for flying to those places.
There’s some truth to that. For example, I might hate DeBeers for the fact that they built a monopoly and artificially inflate diamond prices, but if I ever want to get married, I’m probably going to have to dump a chunk of money in DeBeers’ pocket because the woman is going to demand a real diamond and they’re the only game in town.
