The ever-expanding popularity of weight loss injectables has NYC moms clamoring to get their shots — even if it means resorting to “shady” and “unethical” measures.
Ozempic and Wegovy, brand name semaglutides initially designed for people with Type 2 diabetes, have surged in demand due to their controversial effectiveness as weight loss drugs.
And despite the FDA’s warning against using off-brand semaglutide compounds due to their potential “adverse effects,” a shortage of brand-name drugs and their hefty $1,300-a-month price tag is motivating people to seek cheaper, more accessible options.
One 40-year-old fashion executive and mom of three who lives on the Upper East Side, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Post she is currently taking off-brand semaglutide in the hopes it will help her lose the excess baby weight, a “hush-hush” trend she said is permeating her affluent Manhattan neighborhood.

Oh oh oh it’s magic...
No doubt. And the NY Governor, And the NYC Mayor, And AOC...
VA put me on Ozempic 2 months ago. That shit makes you forget that there ever was this thing called “food”. It tickles your ‘satiety’ switch, and you aint hungry for 3 or 4 days. I am manageing T2D under quality Dr. supervision. Theres gonna be some fallout on this. Its just way to easy for the pounds to start falling off. Im not saying it aint good. Im saying it aint right. I have been asking every way I know how and no one will tell me exactly how this stuff works on the back side. There has to be a trade off.
And we care what the fools in NYC do ..... why?
Whodda thunk diabetes drugs would ever become so “wildly popular”? After the Dempanic, they’ve become more popular than toilet paper.
The only way I would take that bet is if you gave me at least 100 to 1 odds.
Basically, if I’m wrong I pay you $20, if I’m right you pay me $2000
It’s a fools bet because you are 100% right, who besides this particular drug, she has probably been on multiple drugs most of her life since childhood, throw in multiple covid vaccinations and it’s a wonder she’s still alive.
For sure there are negatives for Ozempic, for some people. This info is on the internet. You are one who has no negs with Ozempic.

Metformin too! It regulates blood sugar ups and downs. Insulin levels too. Many non-diabetics take it. Some call it a life extension drug.
The way I look at it is if someone just started having these appetite problems and was technically starving almost every day, we would be looking for the underlying cause of their “problem”.
I feel like these drugs are technically a self induced body regulation illness, and we will find over time that their use purely for weight loss is harmful for the body.
“Kids are different today,” I hear every mother say...
The wife has knee pain issues. They want to do replacement surgery. Yet, no proposal to help her lose weight. Is this Ozempic thing an option or not now?
One of the reasons no one can tell you what the back side effects are, is because the Doctors don’t know.
From what I’ve read, Ozempic is only approved for weight loss under specific conditions, the off label uses if given by a doctor are not FDA approved, who knows for sure, just what I’ve read.
It’s interesting that back during Covid any off label treatment for Covid was ridiculed, mocked and in some cases outright banned from use. Does Ivermectin and HCQ ring a bell.
Drugs doing what will power can’t.
I have been hearing of some serious side effects from this.
2 weeks after the Diabetes Dr. started me on it, my Gasto Dr. wanted me to start it because of liver issues that weightloss could benifit. He was relieved I was already on it.
Are you on medicare ?
Are they paying for it? Is there a copay that’s high ?
For ozempic
One should be able to weight the risk/benefit of
1) ozempic
or
2) surgery on knee at BMI 36
