"Facebook Meta launched their new app today “Threads.” Owner Mark Zuckerberg says its vision is to “create an open and friendly public space for conversation” for 1 billion-plus people."
(snip)
"Attorney Alex Spiro said Meta assigned former Twitter employees to develop ‘Meta’s copycat ‘Threads’ with the intent to use Twitter’s intellectual property.
Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey noted that Facebook-Threads was already harvesting user data. That didn’t take long!

Looks like Zuckerberg (and whoever is behind him) is now using the China model for "tech transfers".
Just guessing, but based on the latter part of the exerpt, and the 'hype' its getting from the usual mouthpieces, its government entities behind it. You would have to be insane or completely clueless to sign on to that.
But back to the lawsuit--if it happens, a tell will be if government connected entities get involved on the behalf of Meta.
Tech titans throw shade at launch of new ‘Twitter Killer’, critics cry censorship out of the gates
Meanwhile, the Biden admin challenges judges new restrictions on government applying pressure to social media companies...
NOthing would please me more than to see this little twerp go under.
Anything the left touches turns to crapola, therefore I would NOT bet on this latest Zuckerberg cluster F, to go anywhere.
Hope he loses his shirt....
We are entering election season with primaries, debates etc etc…they’re doing the same crap like in 2020. Why am I not surprised Elon musk cut off the outside world from reading anything on Twitter. He did hire after all a former CIA ….right? Everything is strategized, planned, cooked, nothing is by coincidence.. ..they are going to manipulate this election mark my words again. THAT IS THE PLAN!! Election integrity in this nation is over! The DC swamp, the FBI, the DOJ, the CIA all of them own our necks no w! The Nazis are in charge now and nothings going to stop them. They have gotten a taste of power and nobody can bring them down or stop and …they will continue until they are the most powerful force in this nation. The presidency? Pffft..that person will be insignificant as well as the house and senate, compare to the outside unelected powers that WILL control this nation with an iron fist!
hope musk cleans his clock in the ring.
Interesting the word,”Threads”, was a movie in UK that depicted an atomic war that basically sent the UK back into the dark ages. How appropriate.
OK, so is the current administration giving zuck some help in return for implementing the latest version of thought control disguised as social media?
Can we call user “Suckerbergs?” Seems fitting.
I’m willing to bet that Zuckerberg has started Threads with direct financial, legal, technical help from US Dept. of Homeland Security.
Can’t wait to see what comes out in the next months.....
Or vice versus.
I think the government talked Zuckerberg into it, with his happy concordance!
Was anyone really surprised that liberal swine would re-create there version of Twitter?
Was anyone really surprised that censorship would be the main OS of this site
Was anyone really surprised that Fu**erberg would harvest data?
Will anyone be surprised when the government backs “Threads”?
Will anyone be surprised that Threads will have major woke cooperate advertisers?
Remember - if it’s free, YOU are the product.
That millions are downloading the app validates H.L.Mencken’s gloomiest appraisals of the intelligence of the public at large.
Even the name ‘Threads’ makes me cringe.
The UK movie ‘Threads’ (1984), was about life in a British city after a nuclear WW III. It was not uplifting or optimistic, being intentionally depressing.

Compared to Threads, The Day After was a comedy.
I was hoping more Conservatives and FReepers would be made aware of this than the 14 replies so far.
But, in the tradition of Free Republic, there will probably be a dozen or so threads on this topic by next week.
