(The Hill) – A Texas kayaking company has sued Gov. Greg Abbott (R) over his plan to install floating barriers in the middle of the Rio Grande River that would prevent people from being able to swim across it.
Jessie Fuentes, owner of Epi’s Canoe & Kayak Team, filed a suit in Austin, Texas on Friday to stop the state from placing the buoys which he claimed would prevent him from giving tours on the river and cause his company “imminent and irreparable harm.”
The buoy construction near Eagle Pass, Texas, has already forced Fuentes to cancel a number of activities and even prevented his company’s access to the river, he claimed.

Abbott responded on Twitter, pledging to fight the suit.
“We will see you in court. And don’t think the Travis Co. Court will be the end of it. This is going to the Supreme Court. Texas has a constitutional right to secure our border,” he said.

Jesse FUENTES from AUSTIN you say? gtfo here loser.
Yep. Sounds credible. An objective, interested party. /s
“Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
That guy’s business is probably a front for bringing in illegals.
Probably runs a ferry service for the illegals.
I’m sure lots of people are lining up to have fun in the Rio Grande River. Just because the river is controlled by the Cartels is certainly of no concern to these folks.
So? Pay him off and tell him to go play golf and be happy.
Just like the Environmental” groups, who filed more than 200 lawsuits to stop Trump from building a wall (claiming it would harm fragile wildlife habitat). Those same groups then said nothing about millions of people peeing, pooping, trampling and leaving tons of trash along the fragile habitat along the Rio Grande River, never filing a single lawsuit to stop it.
They’re Invaders not Immigrants ,LOL
The fed courts will trip all over each other to find standing for this guy, while continually shunning that of Texas.
Definite possibility—Texas authorities need to keep an eye on his kayak operation. I’m no expert kayak-er but the challenge of navigating around these barriers might be good for business.
Find another river ... I am sure there are better rivers around say AUSTIN for your little paddle boats which I doubt are ever used there.
Do you suppose he could learn to code? 😊😆
more ‘lawfare’ from the left. Why doesn’t the right ever play this game?
People harmed by the invaders should file a class action suit against this mud snail.
I think the best way to discourage illegal migration is to shoot all who cross the middle of the River.
Ten or twenty and for sure 4 or 5 pregnant women will make an instant cessation of women crossing the river.
Further, the original purpose of the Texas Rangers was to counter Mexican incursions into Texas. The Governor should call up a large contingent of the Texas National Guard and deputize them as Texas Rangers charged wit the total stoppage of illegals crossing the river.
All crossing illegally will be out in prison camps in west Texas and held incommunicado
Can alligators survive in the Rio Grande? Just asking.
Immigrants don’t sneak across the border ,LOL
The Rio Grande is not Grande. It’s a creek.
Are there really that many people who want to kayak in that little trickle of water?
